You can now download version 3.02 of the mod.

[Update] Le Royaume des Ombres 3.02

The main features of this version are :
- Overall balance
- A improved crafting system!
- Improved gear progression
- Gambling
- News runewords!
- News artefacts!
- Improved fame system

Changelog :

Items
* Scroll names are now in yellow instead of pink
* Reduced overall drop chance of all misc items, but rebalanced the probabilities of all of these items to drop if allowed to. Runes in particular should drop more than before
* Arrows, bolts and dyes no longer drop
* Items no longer have the crafting material they are made of in their name
* Many items names have changed, as well as their look (picture in inventory, on the ground and on the character)
* All plans descriptions have been updated
* Merchants now sell items of all gear levels instead of only some
* Some act 1 and 2 runewords have been moved to act 3 and 4
* There is now some runewords that can be done in gloves and boots
* Many runewords now use differents runes to be done, and can use more runes than before (up to 6)
* Many runewords have some properties remplaced by other properties
* Added act 3 Mystic formulas and artefacts
* Improved pictures of spears
* Keys and salvage kits have a new picture
* Rearanged prices of weapons and armors
* All casters weapons as well as mojo's and orbs now increases spells elementals and magic damages based on your energy
* Bolts and arrows now regenerate quantity at 1 per second
* Strength and dexterity bonus of all melee and ranged weapons have been reduced by 50%
* Magic and rares casters armors can now spawn with cooldown reduction properties
* Added new reagents with the cooldown reduction propertie
* Reduced value of class runes
* Items can now spawn with max amount of sockets regardless of their level
* Gold find propertie has been removed from the game
* Magic find propertie no longer spawn on items
* Sets no longer have a lore text in their description (to prevent some crashs due to too many characters when a set is completed)
* Many sets and unique items have some properties remplaced by other properties
* Ki Rune : Bonuses from this rune have been altered
* Onyx : Shield bonus of this gem have been altered
* Potions of fortune : Now called Potions of heroism. Now increase strength, dexterity and energy instead of gold find
* Scroll of fortune : Now called Scroll of aether. Now increase mana regeneration instead of gold find
* Increased attack speed of all crossbows and hand crossbows
* Unique, artefacts and runewords properties maximum values has been lowered to match values of set items

Crafting system
* Smithing, alchemy and jewellery are all grouped toghether on a single stat : Crafting level
* Crafting level no longer increases when crafting items. Instead, Players now have to colect Pages of training.
* Crafting level requiered on many plans has been rearanged
* Removed all insignas and inscriptions
* Removed all salvage kits but two of thems. One is used to get back items socketed into others, and the other one is used to salvage any items
* Removed all crafting materials but gems dusts
* Removed all weapons and armors parts
* Added 5 new crafing materials
* Added essences : They do the job of old insignas and inscriptions but can be used on any items
* Added Pages of Smithing : they do the job of old weapons and armor parts and are sorted in 3 types : light, medium and heavy
* Crafting material obtenaid when items are salvaged now depend of the rarity of the item salvaged
* It is now possible to use 2 time the same Page of Smithing to get a high single fixed bonus instead of 2 smaller ones
* It is now possible to craft white items with a set amount of sockets, or no sockets at all
* It is now possible to craft class specific items
* Hirelings items, amulets and class specific items can now be salvaged
* All smithing plans as well as set plans now display the gear level required of the item crafted in their description

Playability
* Defense is no longer ignored while running
* Fame is no longer decreased when the player put points in a speciality skill. Instead, skills can be unlocked once you achieve a set amount of fame
* Speciality skills now require a certain level in the Path of victory skill to be able to increase their level
* The fame bar now display the progression to the next level of the Path of victory skill
* The Super nova isen't cast anymore when a player gain a level
* Improved the way characters are saved to reduce the savefile size
* Increased stamina drain while running

Monsters
* Reduced damage of elite, supreuniques and act bosses monsters
* Any monsters that spawn with some other monsters as well (ex : Fallens and shaman fallens) can now only spawn with 2 or 3 additionnal monsters
* Reduced chance to proc Sucubus witchs fire nova from 15% to 5%
* Deparved demons now shoot lightning globs a little slower
* Ghostly, Possessed, Berserker and Fanatics champions and elite monsters no longer spawn
* Phrozen horrors ice spiral no longer hit the player multiple times
* Veteran monsters now reward 150% XP instead of 125%
* Champions monsters now reward 300% Xp instead of 175%
* Elite monsters now reward 500% XP instead of 250%
* Decreased monsters life by 25%. Act bosses aren't affected
* Sarss, Stormscale no longer spawn with Multiple shoots, but with Magic enchanted instead
* Monsters now drop 50% more gold
* Greatly decreased amount of fame given when killing monsters
* Monster no longer drop souls. Instead, they drop unique plans that allow the player to craft the exclusives unique items

World
* Decreased monstrer density in cave type areas by 17%
* Added Kadala in all major towns. She will allow you to gamble
* Myriam skin has been modified
* Rearanged act 3 Act Boss room and added 2 additionnal totems
* Fixed some imperfections in one act 2 map

Skills
General
* All upgrade skills that increased skill damage have been improved from 12...30% to 30...300%
* All bow attacks skills no longer need arrows/bolts to be used
* General skills usable with a staff or a wand no longer deal 100% weapon damage, but deal an set amout of damage increasing when you level up. Theses skills are now affected by specialities, might and both masteries.
* General skills can now be used with ceremonial daggers

Specialities
* Rearanged cost of all speciality skills
* Path of victory : Now grant a gear level of 2 from the first level instead of level 2 - Increased magic find bonus to 3% per level

Warrior
* Leap attack : This skill can no longer be bound to the left skill button
* Destructive Storm : Reduced base magic damage to 2 - 5 - This skill can now be bound to the left skill button
* Shockwave : Reduced base physical damage to 2 - 5

Guardian
* Mystic Tornado : Reduced base cold damage to 2 - 5

Assassin
* Attack of the Star : Improved how this skill work - Projectiles no longer pierce foes

Huntress
* Divine Arrow : Reduced base weapon damage to 25%
* Static Spear : This skill now also deal 50% of weapon damage

Necromancer
* Morbid Orb : Projectiles now pierces ennemies - Reduced range of projectiles by 40%
* Masochism : Reduced bonus to 17% at level 1 and +7% per level

Ritualist
* Vague of Distortion : Reduced base cold damage to 2 - 5

Sorceress
* Hydra : This skill should now deal correct damage

Translation
* Fixed occurences of 'Shoots' instead of 'Shouts' in some skills descriptions in the english version
* Fixed description of Tenfold Might speciality skill (increasing might effect and not strength effect) in the english version
* Fixed some properties translations in the english version
* Added more details to some properties strings

Bugfixes
* Fixed an issue preventing items to drop with more than 3 sockets
* Fixed a crashing bug in Tristram Cathedral level 3
* Fixed a crashing bug in Astrogha's Temple ruins level 1
* Fixed a bug preventing arrows and bolts to be sold at merchants after the player reach a certain level
* Fixed a bug preventing some reagents to spawn with any magic properties
* Fixed a bug sometimes allowing sorceress skills to spawn on warrior class specific items
* Fixed a bug preventing the Assassin to equip two claws at the same time
* Fixed a bug preventing act 3 hirelings to equip shields
* Fixed a bug preventing reagents with the protective shield propertie to spawn
* Fixed a bug preventing some skill to be cast when on items procs
* Fixed a bug displaying 0 fame when the player die until it get back it's corspe
* Fixed a bug displaying 0 fame when under the effect of a skill shrine
* Fixed a bug preventing fame to work correctly at high level
* Fixed a bug in the calculation of strength and dexterity bonuses

Misc
* Updated credits with names of some testers

Note :
Characters created before this update will not be compatible. You will have to start over. Be sure to also clean your shared stash to prevent issues.

My friend is setting LAN game right now. Its time to give new version a try! There is only ONE thing that Le Royaume des Ombres need - a wiki like Easter Sun ( Miyoshino.la.coocan.jp ) have! Best DII mod documentation so far.

Got an error message last night: "Too many items in inventory". I was in Act 1 Lugubrious swamp. My inventory was full with mostly 1x1 items with maybe 6*2x1 items. I had the horodric cube in my inventory and it have another 6-10 items in it. I presume that it crashed when I tried to pick up another item but I'm not sure.

Just happened again. I was buying salvage kits in town. You can see that there's still space in my inventory. My cube only had two (large) items in it this time. Exact error text is:

Assertion Failure

Expression: !"Character has too many items"

This is a know issue but mostly unfixable for now. Make sur you have less items in your inventory while playing.

This is because of a diablo 2 limite : characters savefile size can't excess 8196KB. If the size go higher, game crash when trying to autosave the character, or when you manually save.

I'm enjoying the changes to crafting from v3.01 to v3.02. Much simpler.
