Fortresses rework TWOTP

Fortresses defend themselves. They are more impregnable now.

Mount system rework TWOTP

It is necessary to have Stables to mount a horse. It is possible to get a horse in the Stables.

Melee rework TWOTP

All long-range fighters have limited arrow ammunition and automatically switch to melee if the enemy is nearby or if they run out of ammunition.

Powers menu rework TWOTP

It is possible to summon an army from Power Menu that takes command points. You can summon them again and your army will be reinforced with these units if you have enough command points. If you have summoned a hero and he died, he cannot be summoned again. But those warriors that are summoned with him can be summoned again if you have enough command points. Ents can be summoned repeatedly if the Treebeard is alive. If the Treebeard is dead, the Ents cannot be summoned. Some units can be summoned only once, e.g. Eagles and Builder. They cannot be summoned again in case of their death.

Enjoy the game!

These bold changes are quite interesting both from a gameplay perspective and a technical perspective.

However, my personal belief is that players should be rewarded when they fulfil a requirement, not punished when they fail to. For example, always have some troops in a summon that don't cost command points, like this the player can choose whether or not to respect the command limit. if they do, they will be rewarded with more troops.

Similarly, instead of simply removing the summoned hero if he dies, spawn a weaker generic unit that fulfils approximately the same role. For example, if you have a Boromir summon with some Gondor troops and Boromir dies. The next time, a generic Gondor captain with lower stats and fewer abilities should spawn. The player is punished but the spell is not rendered useless. Not being able to use the hero is punishment enough that you should also weaken the spell.

Finally, the ammo mechanic is interesting but again, it punishes a player. What I would do is instead make it so that archers deal more damage when they have "ammo", once they run out of ammo they are forced to scavenge arrows, which is represented by dealing less damage and shooting slower.

You have interesting ideas, I think they just need to be refined a bit so that the gameplay does not suffer too much from this "realism".

Hello!
Thank you so much for your comments and concerns! This is awesome!

We decided to develop the mod using both lore and realistic medieval features. There aren't any similar mods in the game, but there are a lot of mods where we can see a lot of fun features. And that's awesome! We love the mods. Edain, for example, gave us the motivation to develop our own project.
But we think there should be at least one mod that has realistic, maybe challenging, maybe punishing features for players. Most importantly, we think it should have canonically accurate characters, their strengths and weaknesses.

Thank you for your awesome ideas! We've used and considered every one of them while creating the project. Criticism provides a lot of motivation! But this is our vision, we believe in that. We are not after popularity, money and encouragement, we always wanted to do what's right.
