Post news Report article RSS Feed Survivors of Ragnarök - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

With the kids jingle belling. And everyone telling you "Be of good cheer".

Posted by Tastyrice on Dec 8th, 2011

It's that wonderful time of year again. That time of year where the cold winter air is filled with the notions of peace on earth and good will towards men (and women). Where childhood innocence fill the hearts of even the coldest and most cynical of individuals.

The Indie/ModDB Mod/Indie of the Year Awards!

And what better way to start off the season with a long overdue update. What crazy shenanigans were those french dudes up to that prohibited a whole months worth of news post?

Having your artist stolen and used as slave to help out with this years award is one alibi. However there is more to it then not having your artist being able to churn out whimsical pixel art. Your wonderful coding wizard was up to some clever coding magic and has secretly been working getting the framework built for Raiders of Ragnarok. Yes... we finally have a playable tech demo of the platforming and physics for Raiders.

The engine itself took longer then expected (as with most things planned). However Raiders exists now.

This update is free to all Valkyrie, Settlers, and Chicken users alike. We still need to implement the ability to import your Survivors of Ragnarok save games into raiders which you guys can expect next update.

Luckily for our wonderful community, to make up for a whole months worth of no updates we will be doing an update a week for the whole month of December.

Finally we wanted to let everyone know we aren't immune or resistance to greed what-so-ever. So expect the price of the game to increase next update. If you haven't already now is the perfect time adopt a pig before the inevitable $59.99 price tag.

We hope everyone enjoys raiders and don't forget to vote for us in this years IndieDB Awards!

Don't let your dwarves take arrows in the knees. xD

They are too low to the ground to take an arrow to the knee... They can however take an arrow to the face :-/

Arrow to the beard area or nutcase is very deadly for dwarfs, anywhere else is fine.

Raiders of Ragnarok, I like the sound of that. Perhaps we Dwarves could go on an particularly epic adventure that involves the pillaging of Evil Elven towns (these towns are in no way targeted whatsoever for being Elven. They are most definitely evil. In all ways. Honest. Plus they have pointy ears. Pointy eared bastards)

excuse me but did u just say the games cost will soon go up to 60 dollars for people who have not pre-ordered

you do understand that's extremely high price for a javascript game? though your pixel art is nice i doubt people will fork out 60 dollars to buy a unfinished game or even for a finished game the maximum you should ask for is 20 at the maximum and that's pushing it lol, well good luck with your 60 dollar price tag anyway, never seen a 2d pixel java game at such a high price before :/ will this even have multiplayer, else your really asking for too much.

Wow.... Do you really think they are serious about the 60$ price tag?

I mean sure, right now it might not even be worth the 5 bucks due to lack of actual gameplay but hey, we'll see how far they can take the game by playing Skyrim xD
