The Fifties Alpha Release and Send-off! news

Hello, everyone! It has been quite some time. I hope this message finds our followers from back in the day well and that people are pleased to hear this news. My name is Andy and I started working on this project, The Fifties, solo back when I was just a kid in 2008. It has been a huge part of my life for over 8 years and taught me many things about growing up, perseverence and the importance of a strong work ethic over the years. Starting as just a pipe dream I had back then I was so amazed to have many amazing collaborators join the team and help make this vision come to life. Over the course of just 3 years we had grown to a team of over 20 people from all over the world. Thanks to a growing following of loyal fans we worked tirelessly to bring this mod to life and to bring our work to you all.

Unfortunately, as time went on we eventually went inactive in 2012 due to the struggles of life and growing up and strains within the team; However, we never forgot this project and it has weighed on me over these past 4 years, loomed over me as I wished we had released all of the work we had created. That is why I am ecstatic to announce that, at popular request, we will be releasing the unfinished, alpha versions of both The Fifties AND Mafia Zombies this coming Monday, the 20th at noon Central time. It has been an honor to work with all of the amazing artists that have been involved with this project over the years and I hope you all enjoy what we have to offer you, even if it is unfinished.

This Monday I will be hosting a server through LogMeInHamachi at 12pm central time and I invite you all to join me. Whether the mod stays alive long or not matters not as I will simply be happy to share it with you all. Mafia Zombies is always playable and enjoyable even with 1 player and anyone will be able to open their own server using our Hamachi group (the info will be at the end of this post) to play with friends or anyone through the lan server list. Our forums here on the Moddb page may be used as a way communicating with other players regarding servers if anyone feels the desire to do so.

A million thank you's to everyone who helped to bring this mod to fruition and although we never brought the final product to life, I am happy to share these completely playable and enjoyable alpha versions of the mod. There are still many bugs and I want to reiterate that this is not the final product but many have asked and I will deliver what we do have.

SERVER INFO:

To join or create a server using LogMeInHamachi (a safe program that allows multiple networks to interact as if on a LAN network) follow the instructions below. There is a limit of 5 people per Hamachi network but I have created 3 so as long as someone who is in all the networks is hosting anyone in any of these networks will be able to join off of them.

Download the Hamachi client and join an existing network with the following credentials:

Network Name: The Fifties Mod Network

Password: TheFifties

The other two networks are "The Fifties Mod Network 2" and "The Fifties Mod Network 3" with the same passwords. If you try to join one and it is full try another. If all fill up message me here on moddb and we can figure something out.

IN ORDER TO HOST A SERVER THROUGH HAMACHI: You must host a game and then open up the console with the ~ key. Type "sv_lan 0" and hit enter. Then you must type "changelevel" and follow it with the level name in order to reload the level. After doing this others may join your server either through the LAN server browser in the game or by typing "connect" followed by the ipv4 of whomever is hosting, which can be copied by right clicking the server host's name in the Hamachi group.
