We are proud to say that French Rice Game's Survivor of Ragnarok IndieDB profile is now active. Here we will be updating the community with anything new regarding any games we are developing.
Survivors of Ragnarok is a city-building survival game inspired by the legendary Dwarf Fortress. Our main goal is to make a more accessible game that still has the spirit and depth of Dwarf Fortress. We aim at creating an engaging, addicting, and fun gameplay experience.
We have created some mockup's of what we envision our game our game when it is fully completed. There is still a lot of work we must do before we get a build that is fun to play.
We would love to hear your thoughts and critiques. Whether it be gameplay suggestions, art suggestions, coding, or anything. We believe that creating a game for the community is just as important as creating a game for yourself. What would a game be if nobody was playing?
You can follow us on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and Blogger.

I find that the pixelation is to big.
Peace , your too picky ;)
I'm excited , it simply mentioning Ragnarök makes me excited ;)
Norse mythology ftw !
It was a lot of fun researching Norse mythology when deciding a name. I agree that Norse myth is fantastic.
The game looks fantastic (I LOVE the pixelart!), but there is no such thing as "Ragnarök"; you should've done some more research there ._.
Ragnarok, however, is the end of the world in norse mythology.
I hate when people overuse the ö or ø, just because it looks "norse".
That letter is pronounced like "u" in "urge", while as the o is mostly mostly pronounced like "o" in "moose", though sometimes like "o" in "rock" (ex. Ragnarok).
Sidenote: Usually, the "o"-sound (as in "rock") is marked by the letter å. Calling the game Ragnaråk could therefore have been an alternative... Still find it a bit strange, though.
StargÅte does the opposite.
You do agree that Ragnaruk and Storegate sound pretty stupid?
I meant Stargoat... Which sounds even worse :p
But...Wikipedia says so, and we're a low budget indie game company that cant afford a real encyclopedia. :P
Also, how about I drop a scholarly cited source to prove our correctitude.

I liked dwarf fortress and this game looks quite promising as well.... Tracking
May I ask who your pixel artist is? It's quiet beautiful.
My very good friend, Genel, here is a link to his page.

Dwarf Fortress? A Blizzard game?
Oh no, Dwarf Fortress is a fantastic indie game. You should try it out sometime.
This looks like a ton of fun (:
And Dwarf Fortress is fantastic.
Remember, losing is fun!
Will there be a lot of Fun like in DF or it will be easier?
We might make an easy mode, a hard mode, and a Dwarf Fortress: Losing is fun mode.
Remember: You can't properly capture the spirit of Dwarf Fortress unless you have an awesome original classical guitar composition playing constantly in the background.
That said, what are your plans for the in-game music?
We were thinking of doing just that!
Wooow this artstyle and graphics are amazing! Gl with the game hope it will be free and beta will come soon!
Wow I love this pixel art.
