The long awaited Northland Pirates commander Mech has been animated. Check out what this pile of metal and man looks like in engine.

So todays news is short and sweat and all about content.

We started designing this guy about a year ago, and after a hand full of alterations and changes, this is what we came up with. The second mech (The Iron Mason's) is very close to being finished also, so look forward to that!

This is how we started:

Then turned into this:

And now I am proud to show you the Northland Pirates Commander

Keep in mind this is still WIP and we have some testing to do in game before we can call this finished, but its a very exciting time around here.

Feedback is always welcome. More to come very soon!

For a steam powered robot suit it lacks a certain clumsiness to it. also, the ball should move more as the arm swings it, the chain should not be so super tight that there is no movement. I am also thinking that you might want to see if you can get some of the gears to move independently of the rest to show that there is more going on than we can see.

I agree with all of that. We are making the ball and chain a ragdoll, and the extra gears not moving is the main reason this is still WIP.

Good feedback!

I like the idea of Steampunk Mechs, but your concept is too much like a modern idea of a mech. The Wild Wild West is a good example of a Steampunk style mechanized machine with the spider rider. Large, ungainly, as they need room to hold all of the size of the steam equipment for movement, thus the name. Like the idea, needs work to fit the jaundra.
