It's been a while, but it has finally happened, MGM has announced Stargate Origins - a new live-action miniseries - at Stargate's 20th anniversary panel at Comic Con San Diego.
Stargate Origins will bring us the story of the young Catherine Langford - founder of the Stargate program - through 10 episodes that will run for 10 minutes each. Pre-production is underway with production scheduled to begin in August and a series premiere later this year.
Episodes will be distributed through a new subscription based streaming service called Stargate Command, which offers both free and paid content. Here is the official teaser trailer for your enjoyment.
Hopefully this is just the beginning of a new wave of live-action Stargate TV shows and films.
