RUNNING WITH RIFLES is a top-down sandbox shooter for PC/Windows, with emphasis on cooperation, squad leading and being a tiny soldier in a big war. The events take place on an open world battlefield divided between two factions, each trying to capture bases from the opposite side until the enemy has been wiped out from the area. The player takes the role of a private and fights along his/her comrades controlled by AI, slowly gaining influence over fellow soldiers through rank promotions from success in battles.

It is $8.69 on Desura but $7.47 on BMT Micro, shouldn't the BMT Micro price reflect on Desura?

So, after watching the video I must ask;

Where are/what are the sandbox elements?

It's called a sandbox due to its non-linear randomized open world; you can reach the goal with countless different ways and every session plays out differently.

Events in general take place with or without player's intervention.

Try the single player demo, you'll know what I mean! :)

I love seeing a well built interesting game, and then seeing it's made with Ogre, been using it for 2 and a half years and absolutely love it. Definitely picking this up for the weekend :)

Out of curiosity what do you guys use for UI? CEGUI?

Thanks! You're right, Ogre is amazing, it's such a delight to use.

The UI is custom made based on Ogre's overlay elements.

Love this game and it's openness. Any chance of any sort of camera control or customization?

Thanks! There has been some camera control discussion on the forum at www.runningwithrifles.net , but currently it would seem that it's better left uncontrollable for simplicity and fairness, and come up with solutions for the issues it brings up in another way.
