Presenting to you, the workhorse of the Red Army - T26!

Posted by on

T26 was the staple of the Red army's armored division throughout the thirties. From a low-grade export model, with the power of the nation of workers and peasants, to a battle-proven machine, unparalleled in the world by its sheer numbers and quality. Now, making its debut here.

Presented here is the lineage of the T26. Enjoy!

T26

T26 mod. 1931. Basically a copy of Vickers 6-Ton. Yet, the Soviet engineers saw potential...

T26

It came to mind that two machineguns might happen to be a bit inadequate for the battlefield. A makeshift T26 mod. 1932 series was put in production, sporting a 37 mm gun in the right turret.

T26

From here on, we might as well talk of a new tank. T26 mod. 1933 was a Soviet engineering marvel, sporting an excellent, modern 45 mm gun in a large, two-man turret, with up to 3 DT machineguns, at the time when the world standard was the weak Puteaux 37 mm. Can be considered T72's great-grandfather.

T26

Soviet Union is cold. This thing, the OT26, isn't. Designed on the basis of T26 mod. 1931, it showed the world the effectiveness of assault flamethrower tanks.

T26

A step further. OT-130, based on the T26 mod. 1933, offered a larger fuel tank, a longer flame range, and overall higher efficiency over its predecessor, OT26.

All of the models were made and textured by Alexey88. From scratch (MoW T26 was rather inadequate). X and XX models included, with a variety of textures.

That's all for today. Enjoy!
