Hello chaps,

So for a while now I've seen various reports where people have to travel all over europe just to do a simple quest. This is caused by the simple fact that the Roman Empire is huge.

In the next patch we will see a huge change in this. The Roman Empire will be divided into 5 factions.

1. Roman Empire (Italy)
2. Province of Gaul and Brittania (France/England)
3. Province of Greece and Dacia (Greece, jugoslavia, romania, hungary / all that lies to the east of Italy and West of Turkey)
4. Province of Egypt and Turkey (Turkey, Israel, Egypt)
5. Province of Spain and Africa (Spain, North-Africa, Cyrene)

The differents with troops have yet to be seen. And so far will be pretty much the same. I might just include some new cohorts with new shields for each faction to have atleast some difference but Im a bit tight when it comes to equipment so I'll have to see.

This should make it much easier to do quests in the Empire, and each province can focus on its own bit of the Empire.

I hope that this will be a good improvement, if you have anything to add to this please do so! Also these names are just randomly made up ("province of Gaul and Brittania") because I suck at making up stuff. So if you have better names for these then go ahead!

Cheers!

these are great ideas, but we must make sure that the Roman factions do not go to war with the other Roman factions, the difference between the various Roman factions would be enough to change the color of Roman armor and shield, the names of the provinces could be provinces of the north, the southern provinces, the provinces of the West and Eastern provinces and please add freelancer and diplomacy :) sorry for my english, I'm Italian ;) I hope I was helpful, good job, you're great Gokiller :D

Indeed, but why shouldn't they war each other? The roman empire had it's fair share of civil wars during the principat after all. Many emperors became such by using the legions of their province like Vespasian or Constantine! But yes: Please add freelancer joining a legion would be awesome!

I honestly wouldn't mind some simulated civil wars. It could definitely be interesting to see an empire fighting itself and being able to take sides in the conflict.

Yea,the Names could Be:Britannia (Britain)l(France),Germania(Germany,which doesn't belong to the empire),Judea(Israel and it's neighbors),Italy,North Africa,Iberia(Spain),Anatolia(Turkey),and some more.

Plz use all these, add try to find the latin names for other provinces.

How about for troop differences you factor in regional auxiliaries or mercenaries? Like greek spearmen or gallic cavalry?

I suggest adding a bunch of villages and maybe a few castles to the eastern province, and having more "lords" to govern them. This would represent the fact that large numbers of the Roman legions were sent to the east, and the only way to really show this in Warband is with more lords and more lords require more fiefs.
