Here's a little video showcasing the lift journey in the first map of the mod.
The vid:
also there is snow but particle effects don't come up on source recorder.
also black mesa symbol is a placeholder this is not about black mesa :D
Here's a little video showcasing the lift journey in the first map of the mod. We are aware of the fact it drags on a bit and it has be shortened.

Not much to see there
The fog looks bad tbh.
Quite cool and atmospheric, but there are a few things you could improve.
1. Reduce the volume of the wind sound once you're inside.
2. Add some more detail to look at while you're descending. There are lots of opportunities to hint at things that have happened in this place.
3. Improve the fog as xteam mentioned. It doesn't fit with the skybox. Try adding some volumetric fog too.
4. It was snowing inside...
I look forward to seeing more though!
Remindes me of the snowy area in "Get A life"
Hmm. Ok It's a good start. Try thicker fog and removing the sky. Try this:
1.Set the env_fog_controller to have a fog start of 0 and perhaps a fog end of 500. This should make it look fairly realistic but play around with it if it seems too dense or thin.
2.(assuming you are familiar with skyboxes) set the sky_camera to have the same coloured fog as the env_fog_controller
3. Make the sky fog as thick as possible and then put a box around the sky_camera using a solid texture (not a skybox texture or something transparent)
4. This will make the blend between the ground and the sky seamless and it should look more realistic and a little creepier
5. Thick fog and no sense of direction will mean the player will get lost so I propose a cinematic entry where the player has no control to make it seem more like you stumbled upon this place by accident. I'm not actually sure how to do this but I'm sure theres a tutorial on the web which can explain how to do this sort of thing.
6. This can also mean you can control what the player sees so there can be alot of optomisation
Hope that helps.

Replace the ash with snow, and you are done.
