As someone who liked both the original BSG and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century I wouldn't mind if you perhaps managed to fuse both series into one; BSG taking place in the same universe as Buck Rogers.
Actually been a bit of a fan fic idea of mine, the Colonial fleet reaches Earth and are greeted by Colonel Deering and Buck Roghers and both the Colonials and the Earth Defence Directorate have to work together to fight the pursuing Cylon forces.
But I am not trying to affect your vision, just mentioning some thoughts.
I have my own vision for how finding the 13th colony (earth) will work out. The Eagle Mk1 as I have uncreatively named it will be available in the first era for the twelve colonies. My knowledge of the Buck Rogers where the starfighter comes from is fairly limited, but I think it's a good design that shows a natural progression in design.
It was just some idea I wanted to share with you.
If I really want a classic BSG/Buck Rogers XXV crossover I should make one myself.
Have you BTW ever played that Battlestar Galactica game for the PS2/Xbox?
It also had some very nice designs for Colonial and Cylon ships such as the Colonial bomber.
Plus the Sixth Millennium Scorpion which was around at least 300 years into the Thousand Yahren War.
