Nehrim - At Fate's Edge

Release of the German version 1.0

Today, the biggest completed total conversion for Oblivion gets released. After 4 years of development, we are proud to present our project to the public.

Nehrim features a continent that is as big as Cyrodiil, built completely by hand and filled with cities, castles, villages, hidden places, quests, dungeons, new weapons, armours and spells. There is professional German voice acting for every dialogue as well as a new soundtrack with more than 50 unique music pieces. The mod offers about 50 hours of playing time.

Note: Oblivion and patch v1.2.0416 has to be installed.

More download mirros can be found on

Please note: This is the release of the original German version, that means there is no singe English word in it.

Yeah, German version... nice... but when will it be out in English?!
We are currently working on an English version with translated texts and German voice acting and are making good progress. We estimate that the English version will be available in July or August.

Interesting. Does it play like Oblivion?

I hated Oblivion, but completely-built-by-hand intrigues me... And 50 hours! This type of stuff puts it on the level of a full fanmade game/expansion, like T2X: Shadows of the Metal Age, which is very rare.

Anyway, this mod looks so awesome, gonna save it until the English version comes, dont want to miss any part of the awesome story that i'm sure you have made, i can't wait to enjoy every moment of it.

What's so weird? I mean, it was one of the first games to obviously leave out content so it could be sold later as DLC. It was basically a massive step backwards for the Elder Scrolls series in everything but graphics technology and amount of voice acting. Less atmosphere, less intelligent writing, less exploration, less interesting setting... I mean they literally ret conned Cyrodiil to make it LESS creative. Seriously, what's not to hate? The sad thing is, a good deal of the suck is hard coded into the game so not even a great mod like this looks to be can completely remove it.

Jashin Jun 11 2010, 2:58pm replied:

They call it open-ended, but it's not open-ended. Oblivion is a lifeless sandbox game that tripped and fell down the uncanny valley. The much publicized radiant a.i. is an aborted fetus. Except for some of the dark brotherhood stuff and other odds and ends, quests have single scripted solutions. In trying to keep with its "epic" premise, designers forgot that some towns have outer walls that are 3-4 feet tall in some places, which makes the demon sieges a complete farce.

Need I go on? It'll always be inferior to truly open-ended games like Gothic, where the graphics kinda-sorta pale in comparison but the gameplay far FAR superior.

Ok, that's a good point. I do tend to forget that the game did have good points in the midst of all the bad. Flaming dogs raining from the sky...

Shame it wasn't actually that amazing to play. Morrowind was much better. Hopefully this mod brings it up to scratch!!!

WOAH! Awesome news. I was about to install oblivion the other day but thought "urgh, I have to get all those mods again and then I probably won't care because I have to go through the story again", but this will be a whole new game world, a whole new experience on the oblivion engine.
Definately going to download when the english version comes out :).
Well done SureAI, you guys must be so proud to have finally finished this project (at least for the german language anyway).

Can it be, that this mod even if it is like a "standalone" is not compatible with the English version of Oblivion?

It's compatible, I started it, though I have no clue what's happening, so I'm going to table it til the translations come out.

Morrowind was indeed better it only lacked blocking.
I agree that the sieges in oblivion wheren't realy frightening
but it is open ended. Cyroldill needs a new king and i hope the elder scrolls V will give the answer to that question. morrowind was better but oblivion had more intense fights so I love them both.
back to the mod though,

This mod is a real fine piece of art and I will surely download it when the englins version is out. I waited for this mod for about 2 years allready THANKS SureAI!

Repsekt.. einfach respekt:

- kompletter Installer, der funktioniert
- kopiert die Oblivion Sachen, damit bleibt das zurechtgeschusterte Modverseucht Oblivion wie es war ;)
- extrem Professionelle Synchronsprecher
- passende, extrem gute Musik
