I first want to say that this wasn't part of the original plan for the mod. We wanted the first public release to have a campaign mode, but based on the feedback I've heard from the Youtubers and from my own reference on here, Youtube and Moddb, the MK Team is pleased to announce the first public build of the mod! Before we tell you when, let's tell you what will be in this build:

Play with over 500 units complete with custom stats and manuscript inspire unit cards. Now let me do a brief Q&A.
Q: Will this version have a campaign?
A: No, this one won't but we are working on it.
Q: When will a campaign be ready?
A: Can't quite say but we will have it done in due time.
Q: Why can't you release the mod now? It's the same version the Youtubers have right?
A: Actually no it isn't. We are updating it with a revamped Cuman and Bulgarian roster, additions to Sweden and the Latins as well as further bug fixes.
Q: Will we need any DLC?
A: No, you will not and won't ever need any DLC to play with MK.
Q: Enough stalling! When are you going to release it!
A: May 5th, 2016

I'm pretty sure the Holy Roman Empire probably won't be a single faction. It will likely be represented however by the Germanic kingdoms, duchies, and, principalities that made up the empire.

Agreed, but I think it would be pretty cool in the campaign if they had some kind of faction forming event where if you're playing as a Germanic state and you complete certain goals you can reform into the empire.
Well, guess the diplo action form confederation stuff could be implemented

One question I have is have you been able to remodel settlements to look more like medieval castles and towns?

Actually I think I will wait for the campaign mode. It is really a pity it has been delayed... but please don't cancel it, I am sure I am not the only one waiting for it to be released in all its glory.

First of all I want to congratulate for the great job. Also wanted to ask if along time you would be adding the initial promised factions (K.Portugal, Scotland; Castille...) Thanks and all the best ;)
You need probably 3-5 more factions, perhaps in a future release with campaign. 1) Venice or some other Italian faction 2) Castile or Portugal 3)Mongols 4) Khwarezmids 5) Almoravids/Moors. That would complete the game and basically make it a Medieval 3.
To all who worked in this mod...HUGE THANKS!!!!!!!!!!! ...especially those who have added Bulgarian kingdom!!! ...Khan Tervel(Triveliy)(700/721)-Savior of Europe,Tsar Kaloyan-who breaks arrogant crusaders,Tsar Simeon I,Tsar Ivan Asen II...this is a story that ...Creative Assembly...missed!!!

So close - but it crashes when i try to play a custom game
This mod is freaking AWSOME!!! great work guys, the only thing that is missing are propper polearms animations, those were in the rome 2 mod that CA had made it for archers that used spears,what i found very silly because you will try to avoid to get your archers in melee, but fit perfectly for halebards, voulges and other polearms, if you could add them to this mod, i miss to see voulgiers impaling enemies, they just fight like spearmen mixed with two handed swordsmen, which is still cool but its not the same nevertheless :(
also they sometimes fight like they have a shield, like spearmen and thats seems wierd, they would be perfect with the animations of the version of this mod for rome 2
