What's with the interlacing effect on the video?

Nice intro in Crysis for the mod, but also wondering why the interlacing in the video and the audio clipping and being over driven? If the wave form on the sound goes outside the lines on the top and bottom of the scale, it will sound like there is audio missing and you will get what is called clipping of the audio. This also happens when the volume of the file used is artificially increased in the timeline, it clips the audio as well. Not being nasty, just offering advice...
