Post news Report RSS KOTOR2 on Steam

Not really has to do with our mod, but does with the game our mod's for!

So, anyone has any experience with it already? Includes the (high-quality) patches? The .exe from the compilation pack? How does it work on Windows 7?
And most importantly, have people already tried using TSLRCM with it? If so, we gladly hear if it works properly.

I just find it extremely telling that it took Lucas Arts this long to release the second KotOR game on Steam (the first one has been available for ages). They must be trying to drum up TOR interest, what with this and the new bundle of the first two games combined that'll be coming out some time in the future.

Or maybe only now they can wash away their "guilt" with the restoration mod fixing it up, so most people don't play it 'vanilla' anymore as they left it?
Who knows what LA thinks...???

If the former is the case, and its a publicity stunt for TOR, then maybe, just maybe, bioware games might come back to steam, as well.

Vaguely related possibility, but we can hope, right?

Well, I don't have the Steam version, but I've been playing the disc version with Windows 7 64 bit along with the patches, the Restoration Mod, and a few smaller mods. I haven't managed to get widescreen to work, but I think some people have. I've just been playing in windowed mode. Works alright for me.

Assuming the Steam version is the same as the disc version, it should all be fine.

I bought the steam version (I already own the disc version but I cant for the life of me get it to work) and it works great, I *think* I have installed TSLCM correctly but Im not 100% certain. How do I check it ?
Whats the first bit that have been fixed in the game that I should notice a difference ?

Prologue; Have a discussion with 3C-FD
Peragus; Kreia saying "Ebon Hawk" instead of ship, or finding a vibrocutter on the body.

Don't know about steam version but i have a **** version which i play on win7 64 bit with TSLRCM+1920x1080 ress and around 20+ other mods witch don't compromise each other. From balancing, cosmetics and new skills to like 15+ small but important features. All of that without crashing or anything like that. And i bet there is nothing new in this Steam version so it shouldn't make any problems.

Ok these are the instructions to set up TSL to be able to install every mod from this list without any problems.

Install KOTOR 2
Patch it to 1.0b
Download and install High Quality Music patch and High Quality Movie Patch.(This is the official stuff it's not the mod, also it's important to do this before installing TSLRCM or any other mod)
Install widescreen patch and change your resolution to 1920x1080 or any other resolution you prefer.(This is optional but i advise you to do it, it's amazing :D)
Finally install TSLRCM
Now this is the important part, first install "brute force" mods(mods that require you to manually copy/paste into override folder).
After you are done with that, install mods that use TSL Patcher
This order is required so that every mod can work together without any compability issues.

This is the list of mods that work 100% and i use them all together, follow the instructions above for a maximum effect :P.

Bao-Dur's Charged Armor
Better Male Bodies
Corusant - Jedi Temple
Jedi Temple Expansion 3.0
Expanded Workbench revised revision 2.02
Fixed Mandalorian Banners
Handmaiden Style Undies FOr Female PC's
Insane Dustil Restoration
Invisible Reticles for K1 and K2
Kill The Ithorian 1.1
Movement Animation Fix For KOTOR & TSL 1.3
Movie Mandalorians 3.1
Movie Style Jedi Master Robes
Movie Style Retexture for Kotor TSL 7
Remote Tells Influence
Sith Assassins - With Lightsabers - This makes the Sith Assassins on Harbinger use lightsabers instead of vibroblades.(They hit EXTREMELY HARD even on "easy" settings but it's still possible to kill them)
T.W.O - Blaster Rifle Pack
T.W.O - Heavy Blaster Pack
T.W.O - Heavy Repeater Pack
Trayus Rank Reform 1.2
TSL Ambience Improvement Mod
TSL Music Improvement
TSL Achilles Game Balance Mod - After you download this mod, there will be 10 files inside, use only "autobalance.2da" and delete the rest.
TSL Achilles MIra Makeover
Ultimate Sound Mod For Both KOTOR & TSL
Uthar's Head
Visual Graphic Enhancement 2011 - This mod replaces every possible texture in the game, it's HQ and a MUST to use, it's simply outstanding work. Only problem is that after downloading you have to convert from PGN to TGA. It's quite simple if you follow the instructions in the readme file.
Workbench Crystal Attunement 1.2

Few mods that you install will ask to overwrite the files, don't worry it wont **** up anything so just press YES.

If it doesn't work, it's on your end. Why am i so sure about that ??? Well because i finished the game several times with both, Light and Dark sides and there was not a single bug or compability issue.

Thanks for posting all this. Now I finally feel like trying the TSLRCM - until now the thought of having to fight the game to make it run on Win7 x64 had made me want to postpone playing as long as I had other games.

I've found the process for installing with Steam. It's actually pretty simple, but different from the standard:

1) Ensure you do not have a typical install (from disks) already. If so, clear the install out and delete the directory folder from your C:\ drive (mine was at C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts).

2) Install the game from Steam. Steam, by default, will put the content here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II

3) Download 1.8 the TSLRCM exe.

4) Run the exe. During the install, the exe will ask you where you want to install files to. DO NOT use the default location (C:\program files\Lucas Arts\SWKotOR2), instead, use whatever location Steam has installed your game files to ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic I" for me).

5) Run the game and enjoy!

Notes: The most obvious indication I've seen of the install being successful is that in the first room after your conversation with Kreia, you'll come across a body who you loot a vibrocutter from. This is not a Plasma Cutter as gets mentioned sometimes here, but a unique vibroblade. That is the easiest difference to spot I've seen.

I can confirm that using the method suggested by tomatoandrew works.

Worked perfect on my game. Got vibrocutter and Kreia called the ship Ebon Hawk! Just remember to set the game to not update automatically.

See I'm pretty sure I've done this correctly and I installed exactly the same way that tomatoandrew did. The funny thing is that Kreia did in fact call it the Ebon Hawk, but I am currently holding a plasma torch, not a vibrocutter.

I'm not sure what that means.

Nevermind I have found the vibrocutter and absolutely sure that up to this point of the game that the mod is successful. I'm excited to see the game without all the bugs it had when I played it years ago.

Hi guys I have gotten this game on steam and tried to get the mod working for it but I cant seem to get it running, there is no sign of the mod taking effect (e.g. kreia says ship etc). Could anyone give me a quick step by step guide? I would really appreciate any help
