Ingame Video Coming Soon

What everyone has been waiting for...

Ingame Video:
Since SHIFT's inception, the hardest part about modding has been convincing the community that SHIFT was legit. This was primarily due to the secrecy and lack of information regarding how SHIFT would be implemented. MANY people in the community are strong skeptics and with good reason. No good racing mod has arrived for Half-Life2 and they want to know if SHIFT will really change all that.

Over the past weeks, the team has been working endlessly on SHIFT in order to get the alpha up to speed. The reason being is to get the build ready to showcase it to an interested signed musician in October. So far, we have exceeded our own expectations.

What I can assume will be previewed in the video will be the working HUD, custom vehicle, custom physics, preview of the work in progress race track, menu, and possibly a first look at the singleplayer AI; and maybe a few surprises.

While there are no clear-cut gaurentees, I can tell you that we are working on an In-Game video to show to the public. Upon release of this video, we hope to convert many of the skeptics into full-faith believers; Whether you like racing games or not, SHIFT will still be an impressive total conversion.

Stay tuned and we won't disappoint. ;)

Exclusive Music Partnership:
Through SHIFT's development, I have struggled to find a musician to feature and brandish as the main "Soundtrack" of the game. Through some prior connections in the music and studio world, I contacted a talented selfmade producer who is excited to compose the entire action portion of the games soundtrack. He goes by the alias Fatwerks and leads his own band named Aftercoma. He has also composed his own solo pieces in the past.

This music will be what plays during races (but can also be turned off at users will). It will consist of primarily hard rock/metal (without any vocals). The sound quality is top notch and the hard edgy style fits what SHIFT has been looking for in a custom soundtrack.

Listen below for the song that will go to our 2009 trailer!

I'm glad you're going to have good music. I'm sick of all the generic hip hop and techno in many racing games.

For a racing game as SHIFT, I would prefer hip hop instead of rock but nevertheless it sounds quiete well. Anyway the most important thing is that we will see the first ingame scenes ever!

Good luck with the mod!
I was kinda ****** that you rejected my offer to help as a modeler and yet you continued to waste like 2 hours of my time asking me why I didn't wanted to help but...

I guess that's in the past :)
I hope it comes along well.

I guess this might work, but for a racing game, hip hop might be a bit more appropriate. Maybe at least one?

Why is hip hop more appropriate?

NFS and F&F both have created this illusion that racing is somehow tied to accesories and thumping sound systems.

Hip hop just doesn't deliver the high adrenaline feel that SHIFT needs.

You mean the new NFS' and new whatever the hell F&F is (I want to assume Fast and the Furious but I can't think of a game for that movie).

Old NFSes had very good rock, techno and a few other genres of music. (but not hip hop)

THANK YOU so much for not using terrible RnB hip hop rap crap for the racing game.

Rock really gets you pumped up, just look at NFS Hot Pursuit 2, that had rock then the later games went really **** and lame!

Awesome work, seriously!
