So another news update in just a few days, you lucky people you. This one brings you our game trailer and a little bit of news regarding the future of Heavy Steel.
While Heavy Steel began as a University project, the plan has always been to develop a platform and a fan base, that we could then build upon and continue on into the future. This is still our plan, what we will be looking for is some good strong feedback upon the release of the alpha. We will be looking to develop the core infantry/tanks relationship mechanics that we have in place and key to this will be you our fans feeding us back with ideas, changes and criticism.
Hopefully this will be the start of a fun and strong community with possible future dev positions as well as the possibility of opening up some of our level assets to allow for a strong map building community for submission to future builds.
I look forward to continued development of Heavy Steel. Now time for our trailer to commemorate the work thats been produced by a small team of 4 over a 6 month period. Enjoy.
i advise u to add more light because i cant see what happens a big part of the video. And for unreal engine 3 your graphics are not really detailed... i can understand that u focalize u first on gameplay but as i can see gameplay looks a lot like ut3 basic dm :\.. at least for ui.
btw good luck for next steps

I don't like it when people say good stuff about their OWN game , EPIC GAME ? it looks horrible for a unreal engine 3 and looks UNOPTIMIZED !
Your an arse stfu
You're*
Look the trailer was for an end of year presentation, the game was created as a university project from a very small team with no previous UT3 experience. The first release is an alpha only, we plan to completely redo everything now that we dont have to worry about strict uni deadlines.
If it was optimized we'd be releasing a full version of the game.
Your comments are appreciated though
First of all, it's a mod, so it would be very hard work to make it look awesome in 6 months by a smyll team, second, it's the alpha, so the team will improve it's work, finally, I hav to say that this mod will be a good one if you keep on working and finish some of the textures which need some polishing, etc.
good luck in development.
I'm still looking forward to playing this game in a more complete state, but damn if that trailer wasn't whatever a stronger word for corny is. Short phrases of a number and a noun in white text on a black background, quick cuts of action, Requiem For A Dream... The only thing missing is a totally over the top epic voice over guy reading the few words that flash across the screen and maybe some sort of one liner like "This time it's personal." :D
Still, can't wait to try out the actual game in a playable state.
Wow i totally agree those graphics look horrible it's so hard to watch video aswell there is tons of lag. Good work so far on gameplay now that you got some time be good to see some new graphics.
Its looking likely from the team discussions and some of the feedback we've had from people that the Alpha may infact be a closed alpha. Were discussing the possibilities of overhauling alot of the stuff now that we can concentrate solely on the art stuff.
We will be looking for a few positions to be filled, primarily.
