Hey guys
As you can see we've finally made the switch to Half-Life². It hasnt been an easy change, but as you can see by the screenshots below, were moving pretty fast considering we currently have a very small team. Were still the same mod, same story and same goals, only difference is the mod is now for Half-Life².
We already have two players complete. Both are heavily modified version of Half-Life² models. The uv mapping and skins have been re-done on both, and things like necklaces and bandannas have been added. Below are the renders of both models (remember that things like the necklaces get reflections when in-game, so in the renders they look fairly basic), and yes, the models are already in-game and fully animated!

We also have a new mapper on the team. i3ada55 has been around in the Half-Life 1 and Half-Life² community for a very long time now, and has released some amazing maps like aim_stalker. Its going to be great having someone with this kind of knowledge on the team, especially for our original COD mappers they need to make the switch.
Just-Me is also straight off the block and has dived into Half-Life² mapping in hammer. He's already made some good progress on one of his maps.

partially, its not just black gangs though. Skaters, latino gangs, asian gangs etc.

Yes definately. The gameplay will be a lot like DOD, as in DOD you would go around, holding certain points and capturing flags to win the round. Gang-Life will be fairly similar, same sort of objectives where your trying to take over certain parts of the level. Only major difference is of cource the environment, but also vehicles will be used a lot in driveby shootings and hit n runs.
