Two new development diaries have been released, showcasing enemy AI, and vehicles.
The first video showcases the new AI system. And a basic introduction to the vehicles.
The second video shows the tanks and the newly added helicopter in combat against enemy infantry and tanks.
I initially did not plan to add helicopters due the way the maps are designed. To prevent framerate drops, the jungle needs to be designed as "corridors" to block the line of sight and you can`t fly over trees but I decided to make one huge map that takes place in a valley, which makes possible to have helicopters on it without causing too much lag.
The helicopter is still pretty much a prototype, I'm going to make modifications on it in the future releases to make it's movement feel more realistic.
I do plan to release a public alpha in the following days, so stay tuned.
Development diaries #2 and #3
Tanks and helicopters gets added. An alpha release gets close.

No offence your contribution to the mod scene is up there with the highest but your problem is... You deviate of the course of a project by implementing way too much at the one time, this is why you have put brutal doom to the side line as you take on too much than you can chew, do incremental updates keeps you fresh keeps the mod fresh everyone is happy! Back to this mod in hand why are they tank tracks always leading to poles? also why a first person view of the helicopter yet none for the tank? the helicopter HUD is misaligned it's not in the middle and takes up to much real estate of the screen! Also you keep saying soon for release please stop that as it's infuriating when "soon" becomes like a year plus with no release!
I'd rather see more of this than Brutal Doom. How many more updates do you want for it? Brutal Doom is great but this is fresh and probably a nice change for Mark.
Have I ever told you the definition of feature creep? :)
It's only feature creep if it doesn't work well together cohesively. Seeing as this is a totally new game and you haven't played it I don't even know why you mentioned feature creep.
"why are they tank tracks always leading to poles?"
The "tank tracks" are power lines. The poles they're attached to don't have an animation for falling over yet, so instead just the lines drop to the ground.
"the helicopter HUD is misaligned it's not in the middle and takes up to much real estate of the screen!"
If the cockpit view was aligned to the center, it would cover the crosshair. You couldn't see where you're shooting.
Besides, real Huey's have the pilot and co-pilot seated besides one another. Meaning that either way, you're not looking straight down the middle of the cockpit.

yeah cause you get cross hairs in real life!!!! lol
Thats not the point.
The crosshair represents the center of the screen. The part that you aim with.
If the cockpit was centered, you wouldn't be able to see what you're aiming at. Thats my point.
Besides, you didn't address any of the other points I mentioned, but since you replied, you clearly saw my comment.
I'm gonna take a guess and say that, after scraping the bottom of the barrel for a couple minutes, the only point you could find an argument against was this one technicality.
ouh.. come on
It's called mixing it up.
Working on a single project for too long can lead to burnout, sometimes an artist can take a step back and try something new for a change to rejuice their creative batteries. And god damn,SGTMKIV is making major strides in something unique!

enlighten me to what is unique about his mod that has been around for years?
l.strain, do you have mental issues or something like that? You don't even seem to know what mod you are talking about. VietDoom has not "been around for years", it's not even released yet, I literally started working on it 5 months ago.
You have been for nearly two days spitting anger and nonsense for no reason. You seem to hate me like if I had killed your grandmother because of a gameplay mod for Doom. You should leave the computer and get some fresh air.
Ok so Doom came out when i was 13 and while it was never forgotten, my discovery of Brutal Doom about a year ago totally resparked my interest in the game more than ever before. Here I am playing it thinking how awesome it would be if a community of online play like 'Universe in Chaos: Doom at War' or some kinda name, where people used your tank and heli, etc. creations to have multiplayer battles. Your vietdoom video is ******* amazing work. I cant wait to play it which brings me to say I really dont understand whats wrong with people. Please dont let one person, who embodies whats wrong with the internet and society really, take away from anything. Let it be said that your work as far as I know it, is done for FREE as a service to the community. If you want to charge 20 bucks for it on steam thats fine and then if people want to express negative opinion then thats fine also. otherwise, its take it or leave it. If they dont like something they can fix it themselves or keep the comments to themselves. I guess this stuff comes with the territory and I'm sure you dont sweat it, but I just wanted say stuff like this the exception to the rule and not the norm. Anyway, keep on trucking.
Well said Sergeant_Mark_IV , what the **** is wrong with this idiot!!!???
