Stargate Universe cancelled.

On December 17, Stargate Universe was cancelled by SyFy after two seasons. This means that no Stargate series will be in production for the first time in 14 years. Brad Wright and MGM are working on some options to finish SGU's storyline. The second half of SGU season two will return during March-May 2011.

MGM completes "restructuring".

MGM is out of bankruptcy and has secured $500 million in funding for use on new and existing projects. Hopefully this means that there will be a Stargate release in some form or another in 2011.

Stargate Atlantis movie on-hold.

The cancellation of SGU has also affected the future of Stargate: Extinction, the Stargate Atlantis movie. Joseph Mallozzi stated that:

"the cancellation puts the brakes on whatever progress the SGA movie had made in the past month, shelving it indefinitely ... the cancellation of SGU is very bad news for those looking forward to an Atlantis movie."

However there has been no news regarding the future of SG-1's movie: Stargate: Revolution.
