I would like to start by apologising for such silence. I've mainly been posting news on the Dead Sky Discord server.
Now to the point
Those of you who keep up to date on Discord know the problems we have encountered and it is only quite recently that we have finally managed to get everything working correctly and stably.
But what has changed?
Engine
- Yes. We changed the engine again, but this time it's stable. After the previous problems I knew what to look out for and what needed to be tested.
A very big thank you to Ceasar. The mod now uses the engine from LFO
Weapons
- Initially we did a very large combination of TAZ 3.0 + EFT WP + STCoP 3.3 + STCoP 3.5 + Gunslinger (from Teivaz).
But when STCS 3.6 came out, and in the process we also gained some knowledge about reworking weapon models, that changed. The mod now uses STCS 3.6, Gunslinger from Teivaz and TAZ 3.0, and thanks to the engine we are able to add PiP sights to these weapons
Gameplay
- Not too much has changed in this respect. We set ourselves a goal at the beginning to make the game a bit more difficult but we don't want to overdo it. Generally speaking, we just want the game to be a bit more interesting and not like in vanilla CS, where you can jump at anyone with a shotgun and knock them out.
Levels
- Not too much has changed in this respect either, we want to add new maps. However, the problem we have is how they can be used. At the moment, the only thing I can do on the new maps is to add new caches, scatter objects that can be picked up and add new passages that can help you move a little faster to another location.
The description says that the mod will have a slightly reworked storyline. The idea is that, before we reach the CPP, we will have to go through several other locations, where we also plan to add some mutants and caches. The rewards received for various tasks will also change.
Of the smaller changes we have made are:
- Added CinematicVFX
- Trying to add our own damage based on only weapon caliber
- Added CGIM 2
- Added new textures
- Added new sounds (biggest thanks to ☢CHEEKIBREEKI☢)
Enjoy screenshots :)
Glad you kept TAZ pack, for me it have some sentimental value - not a big fan of fancy "new tech" like Tarkov stuff....
