The last news from Crowley's Magnificent Adventure (CMA) was back in September. Since September, the module has neared its finished state and we can plainly (and honestly) say that CMA will certainly be one of NWN's most unique modules and we mean that in a good way. I - the writer of the story for CMA - am employing all of Dragon Studios' creative skills and creating many twists and shocks in CMA . They will be most unexpected, trust me. The story in CMA will probably be the most heavy (and best) in a Tales of a Forgotten Realm module yet simply due to how it flows and due to the discovery nature of it. In all the other progress reports, we had never spoken about the story of CMA and in this one, I would like to enlighten you lot to what the story will be about:
CMA follows Crowley who is a man with a large and colorful past. This story is about him and his involvement in events that would forever be remembered in the history of Devron. Throughout the years, Crowley has been involved in a series of major conflicts including wars, rebellions and so much more. He even ruined a King's birthday party at one stage! Those that meet Crowley, see him as nothing more than warrior who likes drinking...ALOT. However, those that know Crowley, know that he has a good and noble heart and they know why he drinks. During the adventure, you will explore his story and unravel many of his, and of Devron's, mysteries. Crowley may seem like your ordinary man who just came to be involved in big events by happenstance but there is so much more to him that meets the eye...so much more. Like The Hero of Mavet and The Lowland General, Crowley is important to Devron and while he won't come to stand in it as a figure of importance like they have, he is one of the most necessary gears that made Devron endure for the past few years. Prepare for the biggest twists in the history of twists. The twists are so powerful that they twist themselves into more twists resulting in one big deluxe of twistiness! Anyway...for now, that's all I'm saying about the story. You'll have to learn about the details in the plot by yourself by playing the mod when it releases...though I will add that this story is about revenge...revenge against a sorcerer with two kids of darkness in his heart.

Story aside and now we can discuss about some of the new features in CMA and some of the old features and how they are working.
Asides from fighting, Crowley can get through numerous situations in a variety of ways. He can talk, he can sneak and he can distract. Crowley is Chaotic Good but you can make him more ruthless in how he achieves tasks. For example, in one instance, you can kill a doorman to get into a noble's estate but this results in the guards hearing the doorman scream and thus you have to fight them. Being ruthless would mean taking the choice that just gets the job done and you can do that in CMA just as you can persuade, bribe or intimidate the doorman to let you into the estate.
Asides from different playing styles, CMA also features the ability to form friendships with various NPC's. Basically, some NPC's you meet will have their own developing story that goes on throughout the adventure and you will meet these NPC's in several different areas. Depending on how you interact with them, you can form friendships with them and this can result in them helping you on your quest. However, just as you can make friends...you can make enemies too...
As with The Lowland General 2, Crowley's Adventure has consequences, some of which are long lasting and some of which will strike at you later in the adventure. There are also plenty of choices to make early on, which result in different events. After finishing the first chapter, you are then faced with two choices which effect what areas you explore, what enemies you encounter and what NPC's you run into. So in some way, the story can be influenced heavily.
Statistics not only play a role in combat but they play a role in conversations too. For example, having a certain amount of charisma could help you get past a female guard. In another instance, having a certain amount of dexterity will allow you to perform a task to disable potential enemies before they have a chance to attack.
Finally, CMA is still open world. Once you beat the game, you can return to previous locations, finish unbeaten quests, search for treasure and slay legendary creatures such as giants and dragons guarding over treasure.
Crowley's adventure is nearly finished. Expect a release soon.
