almost two minutes of gameplay. the textures are ugly. ambient music is rather good, and well used color correction.

huge problem with the voice acting, and environments a bit bland, other than that superb potential

Bit short, but then, this IS just a Part 1. Voice acting is a bit meh, and some collision near the start needs work. Still, not bad, gave me a jump a couple times, sound had my hair bristling, and it even killed me once in a rather unexpected way. Will def keep an eye on this.

I tried this mod a minute ago.
More like a very short demo of the athmosphere.

Graphically far beyond expectations, but these are pretty high since Dear Esther anyway.

The design of the locations isn't really convincing me.
Simply doesn't feel like a burning coal mine, sorry.
Beside the fact that climbing into such a burning mine would be suicide.

The enviroment sound is good and dense, but the voice acting doesn't fit at all.

Not only how things are said, but also what is said.
If a voice actor has to tell me what to do next, there either is something wrong with the design of the game or the designer is tending to guide the player to much.

Going into a burning coal mine is beyond insane.

I just tried this mod, a couple minutes ago. Although it's still small, two quite small maps, it's really scary but voice acting could be improved, a lot better.
Other than that, I haven't got many complaints. I just got to say the game did make me **** my pants.

Thanks for your feedback. We've had a few comments on the voice acting and may be thinking about making improvements to this in the future.

There's alot more than voice acting that needs to be worked on. No offense

Just played it, Really good actually but short. But it's Part 1 so i understand.
Detail was really great but some of the landscapes in the beginning felt so... Edgy or blocky.
Voice acting was OK, nothing professional but it was OK.
The scares was actually good! Unlike these other "jumpscares" where a guy just pops out of nowhere, this has a creepy atmosphere and i was paying full attention all the time to the enviroments.

I'll give this (part 1):
Gameplay = 6, due to the short playtime.
Sound/Voice acting = 5, since most was downloaded from websites.
Graphics/Enviroments = 7, Would've been atleast an 8 if it wasnt so blocky/edgy.
Scares = 7, Was great but could need some more work on them.

Problems and annoying things I came across

1. Axe animation is glitched

2. Voice acting is horrible

3. Hdr lighting is good but its a bit overdone

4. 2 of the doors in the start level are pure white

5. Dont use brushes for models they just look bad

6. Textures are good but at the same time they look like crap on some objects

7. The terrain around the surrounding area on the first level is WAY to sharp jagged and their isnt enough grass sprites

8. Net_graph 1 is on? Yes like I want to know how much lag im getting... Not

9. Their are no noclips where they should be because I was able to jump over the fence and get out of the map

10. The light where you pick up the axe just keeps flashing

11. Your character basically sounds like he knows where to go and what to do

Besides all those problems its pretty good.
