Zombie Panic: Source is a co-op oriented Survivor Vs Zombie multi-player survival horror modification for HL2. While our main priority is to make the mod as fun to play as possible, ZP:S plans to greatly expand on the core features of "Zombie panic" For HL1, with the obvious new features, impressive visuals, and of course atmospheric maps. More importantly ZP:S will not force players to fend against dumb and predictable AI, but instead keep the same intense thrill of surviving against intelligent and persistent player controlled zombies as the original.

Report article RSS Feed Zombie Panic! Source 1.5.2 update is now live on Steam!

A minor release is now available via steam, including map updates, minor exploit fixes, and an option to enable the old popular collision system!

Posted by frikazoyd on Apr 7th, 2009

Today, a small but important Zombie Panic! Source update has been uploaded to the Steam servers and is now available for you to download! The purpose of v1.5.2 is to address a few minor issues that have been brought to our attention. To get your hands on this baby, simply launch Zombie Panic! Source in your games list and it will automatically download.

As most of you know, Tatsur0 has gone away for 3 months and won't have internet access until he comes back, but that doesn't mean that we are at a standstill. We are still working hard to bring you new updates of ZPS and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. In the meantime, enjoy the mod and this new update.

ZPS_Haunted, from 1.5.2 Haunted, from 1.5.2

I would also like to remind you, once again, that our Level design competition is coming to an end on the 15th of April! Remember to send your entries to zombiepanicissues@gmail.com in time for the deadline and include all the necessery files (bsp, vmf, any custom materials).

We are really looking forward to playing all your levels.

Until next time, see you around!

Great news.

Though, isn't there a way for you to add the changelog directly in Steam, in that "view update news" list? It would be nice.

It isn't up to us. That information has to be posted by Valve. We've been trying to make use of that news page for quite some time now.

I didn't want it, BUT it's request from the community, and up to the server to turn it on or off.

Yeah, you can't really ever satisfy anybody on the internet. Taking the ethos of "we did this because we wanted to, and if you don't like it, tough" seems the way forward.

This is exactly why we made this an option. This way, people can decide which way they want it. It's an interesting way to let server runners have their cake and eat it too.

Lower than ZM? I'm not sure what you mean in that regard, as we don't have any statistics or awards "lower than ZM".

In any case, the mod team does not harbor any ill will towards Zombie Master, and doesn't have any reason to. We're not exactly competing, as neither mod is making money. And we're certainly too busy to be fueling an inter-community feud. Why bother? It doesn't benefit anybody.

It's in the works. While I disagree with your assessment of the models, I will say that I had no intentions of disabling custom content. It just happened when we moved to Steam, as the way content is hosted changed.

I have received very little help in trying to figure out what the issue is, but I plan on fixing this very soon.

(And why are you so angry about something that is ultimately minor? I mean really. Resorting to swearing?)

Because the models are crap. I love goofing around on this game, but I've seen better models on Goldsrc and that's a 1997 / 1998 Engine. Animations are sloppy, and models are sub-par.

Though that doesn't matter to much, as the game itself is just alot of fun to mess around in. Still, if proper models were done, I'd have no issue.

While I don't agree with the notion of the default models being ****, it would be nice for the players to mod their own hacks or twists to the models.

This is after all a modding community. Everyone here wouldn't mind a bit of change, now would we?
