World in War: Vietnam is an ambitious mod project that brings the Vietnam War to Men of War. You will follow the stories of 6 American infantrymen, from State-side bootcamp to the horrors of jungle warfare during the Tet Offensive.
Sooo... Yeah. That cookie for the person that can name all the mines here?
We do have a question. Do you use the mines in singleplayer/coop/multiplayer? At all? And if so, are you satisfied with their effect? Got any idea for general improvement of the mine system?
Bonus nteresting fact: all mines work as intended. That includes the bouncing mines as well. :D
Edit:
Siaxis managed to name the majority, so I'll name them all.
By nation:
US:
M14 AP mine
M16 Bouncing Betty
M18A1 Claymore
M19 AT mine
M49A1 Ground flare
Soviet/Vietnamese
F1 Booby traps
PMN-1 AP mine
PMN-2 AP mine
TMN-57 AT mine
TMN-B AT mine
OZM-4 Bouncing mine
MSK-40 Ground flare
Looks sexy guys! Great job ;)
And yes i use mines but not that mouch in the original mow..
But with these mines i could have so mouch more fun! ;P
i don't really ever use mines. have the agree with Gonzath.
stuff looks amazing though, nice work :)
This is awesome I can't wait to use them in battle!
and i use mines in multiplayer alot not single player much though
Minecraft x)
However, provided that you have enough time in SP to coordinate defense and plant mines, would you take the time to do it? Or would you rather spend time in simply distributing the units in defense?
I love mines aslong as its not "lay down millions". That defeats any tactical skill. Best when it's open to options and part of the tactical mix. Maybe laying single traps in key areas might be good?
Claymore, M15, Several F1 Boobytraps, TM37 Anti Tank Mine?, TMD-B Anti Tank mine, Flare Boobytrap, "Bouncing Betty", PMN Anti Personel and uhm... A Russian PMK Mine?...
Very close! Good job ;)
i use mines all the time they can help when you got infantry and the enemy have tanks =P
every time you guys update a little of my faith in the human race is restored.
Thanks. On that matter, we as a team strongly oppose the use of mines in real life.
oh god, thats not what I meant at all!
Glad about that. Also when I say I love mines (above), I mean that in a game use sense. Just so everyone knows.. :-S

Wonderful ! But just a question, how does the wiremine work in men of war ? How do we place them ?
I see what you did there ;)
why did i came here hoping to see blocks?
I use mines often in single player in case I have to defend an area for a few minutes and I am given time to set up with mines available. In multiplayer I really only use them on the frontlines game mode, but I use them more in AS than in vanilla because the mine layers come equiped with barbedwire/hedgehogs which makes them more useful to me.
I use them when i attack. I send engineers on the enemys flank or rear in an area of interest then press with tanks from the opposite more often then not they'll fall back to a nearby defendible point where ive layed tons of mines the gloryious thing is the opposing player is too busy on the front he doesn't notice half his dudes are missing till afterwards. Only downside is sometimes the ******* arent smart and stand in the middle of a ******* field somewhere.
Equip some as default on mission infantry (i.e. some claymores in a squad). Sending dedicated troops up or troops back to fetch mines is a pain, but if squads carry a few claymores as default, people might well start using them a bit more. Same applies to the NVA/Vietcong with their grenade traps and Soviet AP mines.
Will you also include the Soviet MON-100 directional mine? It was used by the NVA to clear barbed wire as well as as a Claymore-equivalent.
