It has been a hectic week trying to get everything sorted for a news release, but finally we can now say that the World Domination mod is now in development!

Welcome to our first ever news post!

It has been a hectic week trying to get everything ready for a news release. We have been met with countless tech problems (some are still an issue) and busy life schedules. We have overcome this and can now say that we are officially in the development phase!

For those who don't know who we are, World Domination is a mod base on starting a revolution. The mod takes inspiration from many sources. Such include; "Evil Genius", "Mafia", "Empires" (HL2 mod) and "Republic: The Revolution".

We are few in number (4 of us in total with the possibility of another possible member) but despite this, we are striving to complete the mod in blocks. These blocks will focus on getting a certain number of items done before a "Stage" of production is complete. Each production stage will allow us to effectively manage the work load and give us a sort of "Map" as to what needs to be done.

And a forum which we encourage people to join so they can actively contribute to the development through idea suggestions, discussions and even applications to join the team. The forum can be found on the webpage, just follow the link on the left hand side.

Our concept artist, MKraszewski has worked hard to produce some early concepts for us which are very promising.

As I said, we really encourage everyone to become a part of the community as they are a vital asset to the mod itself, not to mention that you will find out about releases first before everyone else.

I have no idea what your mod actually is. You should explain your concept and how the mod will play. Another quick tip, on your site you should change the menu heading to something that is different from the links.

Obviously you've never played any game mentioned in the summary. It's basically third person/RTS point of view mods, in which you recruit a force to take over te world in a series of non-linear missions.

About the site: The headers are italic. Also, the menu options have a little rectangle next to them ;P

Oh thanks. I was wondering about the same thing. So it's safe to say that it's not a First Person Shooter as the moddb entry says:

Will it have Risk-inspired, or perhaps more familiar, Rise of Nations-inspired gameplay? take over the world in regions, that is.

I'll be watching this mod.

The Entry says First Person Shooter because there was no custom entry of what the mod actually is, and FPS was the closest to what the mod is.

For a first release the mod will probably only be one area. Without coders to discuss whether it is viable to let the player take over the world, it might just be one area in general. More needs to be discussed and we just aren't at a stage yet to do so.

Keep watching...you'll find out more when we get to a later stage of development.
