The goal of Wolfzone mod is to make a single player freeplay with randomly generated quests/missions. No need to be a surrealistic simulation based on scarcity and pain, just something more fun and arcade style, an immersive walkabout into the zone.

Report RSS Incoming Release Of Early Access Version

I had some issues with the mod converted to ET:Legacy engine, but found a way to fix them, and i am about to release the early access version of the mod.

It works! Finally!

When all the Wolfzone mod were converted to the ET:Legacy engine, all worked well except bots. I spent several days to figure out what's going on, but failed to fix the issue.

The problem was when i add a bot, it just levitating above the ground at the spawn point and doesn't move or react anymore, and then was kicked because of inactivity.

Bot Issue

So to solve this, i needed to take the problem from another angle.

I re-used the the whole Wolfzone mod archive before conversion and replaced with parts from ET:Legacy engine i need:

  • The two OpenGL renderers,
  • The Windows and Linux specific parts,
  • The SDL managed sound system,
  • The network code.

And this morning, after few days of work, the whole game seems to finally works well.

As i am on vacation, i will test the game for 1 or 2 days more, and then prepare Windows and Linux version to be released.
