Hello everybody! I know that I have not updated much in this summer. I have been away from home (without my desktop obviously), and I still am. I will return to my house in a two weeks time. Even though I have been away, I haven't stopped working on the modification. I have been planning, (re)designing, and balancing a lot. I will give an update on pending changes and additions about the modification soon after I arrive home. So to satisfy you all unil then, this news update is a Questions & Answers! Ask anything about Wars of Middle Earth and I will respond. Ask away!
Questions & Answers
I know people will hate me but hell, i'll be that guy and i'll take the heat.
The obvious question is, when is the first release date?
Alpha, beta, whatever.
I'm fine with that question. Before the first release I have to complete some more on the civs, sounds, Heroes, civsets, home city cards , natives, and AI. Don't expect a release this year. I'm aiming for a release within the next two years, maybe sooner, maybe later. I don't want to promise anything I can't keep. I want to release the modification with the least amount of bugs possible.
Good enough, thanks for the quick response.
No problem :) and don't worry, time goes by faster than you think.

Will each Civ have its own buildable, named hero from the movies?
Yes! Each civilization will be able to send one from their home city through a card. Each civ will have different Heroes to choose from but can only send 1 per game.
How much will these heroes be stronger compared to normal units like is gimli able to rek 100 orcs or only 5?
They won't be over powered. They will be more powerful than normal units and they will have auras and abilities as well as being immortal. They mostly will cost 2 population and can fight off around five units at a time before dying.
Is there going to be a population or building limit?
Yes. 200 population. I may add more as a bonus for the Goblins, but don't count on it.
Buildings like towers and fortress will also be limited like in AOE3?
Yes. Because if not, then it would be overpowered.
On maps where the natives are, say, Dwarves and you're playing as Mordor and you claim a "trading post" (or whatever you're calling them) then what will you be able to recruit? I wouldn't think Dwarves.
I have been thinking on what to do with natives. Since evil nations (like mordor) never allied with some natives. obviously this is a game but I still enjoy realism, buy realism must die to game play enjoyment. The easiest solution is just to change the names of the native units for the evil nations. For example "Ram Rider" will be "Enslaved Ram Rider" for the evil nations.
Actually I have an idea that I thought about if I ever do such a mod for Age of Empires III (which realistically I'll never do since I simply don't have the modding know-how). The way I thought it is that, in this example, Mordor could build an arrow tower, or watch tower, (or whatever you'd like to call it) on the build plot to subjugate the native peoples so, you may not get new units but you could deny the enemy from getting superior units. The same would go for say, Gondor fighting in Mordor with only Orc natives.
That could be an option, the only thing about that is that people will never decide on which map to choose. Because if you are the elves you only would want to play on maps with natives that you can ally with.
how many natives civilizations will be?
Um, let me count. Bree, Beornings, Dale, Dol Guldur, Drúedain, Dunlendings, Dwarven Merchants, Dwarven Miners, Ents, Elves of Eregion, Ered Mithrin, Hill-Men, Hill Trolls, Laketown, Lossoth, Men of Rhovanion, Men of Rhudaur, Sea Elves, Shire Folk, Stoor Folk, Varaigs, and Woodsmen. So 22 in total. There might be some that I forgot to put. (Sorry for the late response)
jesus christ that's a lot!
Well that's better, right?
Will you make long stayed casualties ? I want it too much.
