WarCraft III: World of WarCraft (Wc3:WoW) is the most accurate WoW replica mod for WarCraft III: The Frozen Throne, featuring many elements as WoW does. It is a Single Player Campaign and the WarCraft III engine does not allow Campaigns to be played online or even on LAN. Wc3:WoW is currently being developed by a group of developers who hope to become pro some day called Condemned Entertainment. Previously, the team was given the simple 'Wc3:WoW Team' title, but after realizing it wasn't a professional team title to stick with, the team name was changed. Right now, the leader of Wc3:WoW is Craka_J, who had led the project through tedious development for over 4 years.

Yixx is back and the artists are still rolling in more and more models and skins for Wc3:WoW.

Not much eye-candy to show off of the terrain or new models just yet, but progress is being made still. This weekend I found out that Yixx is back to working on the Character Creation system. Yay! Forgotten_Warlord has also shown me one of his many attachment models for Wc3:WoW in the works:

It's not much, but just goes to show we're working on making armor pieces for your characters to wear!

The great Hive Workshop community has produced even more models for public use, but we might use them as well. These models include a Human mailbox, a couple attachment models, spell effects, and more doodads! So for the persistent support from them, I and the Wc3:WoW team are certainly appreciative.

I know everyone is super excited to get their hands on Wc3:WoW or at least see some screenshots or viedos, but progress is moving at a steady pace and we're trying to make sure we have very few bugs when we release anything. But of course, it isn't that huge of a barrier that will delay or prevent us from releasing any BETAs or whatever. As soon as Wc3:WoW is playable (meaning, when you can create a character and run around and load through the maps in Wc3:WoW in-game naturally) we plan on launching Closed BETAs and hopefully an Open BETA shortly after.

Stay tuned for next weekend's update; feel free to ask questions in the comments if you want any questions answered next weekend.

About updates, you don't have to make them on a weekly basis; if you feel there's too little to show, then skip one week, work on the mod and then make a media post.
The advantage to that is that it buys you time to work. This counts if you're the only guy working on it.

Thanks for the tip. Posting news only takes about 20 minutes to do TOPS and I am not the only guy working. In fact, sometimes I work the least amount on the actual mod and do mainly PR in the meantime. Though I'd prefer to not post every weekend and wait until we have a lot and larger things to report all in one post instead of multiple posts, the communities demand that I make a post at least once a week. :\

I agree with what you're saying Herr_Alien, but to not post frequently would make everyone think we're dead, which is something I'd like to avoid as much as I can, therefore we must do what the others want. Sorry if this appeals to you as a slight inconvenience or anything of that sort.

If you mean if we'll be using the same model and just swap textures for it in-game, then it is very unlikely since I don't think it's doable; Forgotten_Warlord says we might be able to do that though by making the textures change via animations, but isn't completely sure if that can be done - at least with attachments in WarCraft III.

I get what you mean, but getting the visuals down first is actually pretty important at the moment. More eye-candy is good eye-candy!
