the models need more lightning, all of them, seems too much cartoon, almost like an older engine, like c&c generals for example.
although overall nice idea.

Thanks for your input.
That was the intention, the bottom image has modified lighting to produce a cartoon like/cell shaded effect. This is 100% intentional and is a demonstration of a graphical concept we may apply to the entire mod.

The top one looks better imo.
The lower one is to overdone and imo doesnt fit the style to much (almost starts looking like the style valve used on TF2.

I would start from the top one and try to brighten the highlighted areas a bit more so you get a more metalish shine like blizz did with the sc2 units.

Images2.wikia.nocookie.net

Even if it doesnt completely immitate the wc3 style it would be a shame to not use the beatifull style sc2 itself uses and seeing from how outdated the wc3 grahics are i would say no one can blame you for picking something not completely true to the orriginal.

dam edit limit, forgot this.

I know the top ones are how they allready are ingame incase someone comes up with HURRDURR THE TOPONES ARE ALREADY IN THE SC2 STYLE.

My suggestion still remains as it is, the bottom one is to overdone but imo a bit brighter highlighting (and maybe a bit darker shadows) would maybe look good.

srry for the double post, just to avoid anyone spamming my prev one about it.

Same style a tad brighter, seems to be the pattern but the vast majority seem to like the cell-shaded images, so for now I think we'll be sticking with it, thanks your input Dragon.

tracking regardless or style :)

btw, are you guys planning on using any of the Blizzard dota content lateron (as it will include all or most of the wc2 heroes, specially remade for sc2) or are you going to make all units yourself?

Thankyou! Your support is much appreciated =)

As for Blizzard Dota, our Dev team is literally drooling over it.
Were not huge fans of Dota, but when your trying to make a fantasy game in a sci-fi engine, resources are slim. The content in Warcraft Dota will be used in excess, there is no doubt about that ;)

Modelling from scratch for Starcraft II is time-consuming to say the least, for e.g. every model has more than one texture, sometimes 3,4 or even more!

Anything to save time and get you guys the mod you deserve as soon as possible!
