"Take a look around you at the world we've come to know, Does it seem to be much more than a crazy circus show? But maybe from the madness something beautiful will grow, In a brave new world, With just a handful of men. We'll start, we'll start all over again"

Alright, just wanted to let everyone know that the concepts phase is still underway and there will be plenty more to come.

I am still working on several animations for the mod along with some more ideas and concepts. It's taking me some time because I've already decided to go and incorporate "Brave New World" into the overall story and design. The mod is going to look quite different.

So here's a quick overview of the state of the world 30 years after the initial invasion.

The martians have returned, and they've been on earth a long time, having launched a fresh invasion just 1 year after the loss of the first occupation force.

Civilization has changed a great deal. Many countries around the world now lay under the Martian's heal. Those that do not have either turned their lands into massive fortress strongholds or found more creative ways of holding back the alien advance.

Much of the world is lacking in anything larger than a small village or town. These small settlements are scattered throughout the lands and have been easy targets for Martian combing.

The southern half of Great Britain is dominated by the invaders and is one of their most powerful footholds. There is little resistance left here save for in the northern highlands, where a few bands have constructed a series of walls and fortresses armed to the teeth will all manor of explosive projectile weaponry.

(In most places, artillery is still the mainstay of human defensive weaponry. In some countries men have had the opportunity to study Martian technology in detail, deriving more advanced, yet highly simplified weapons.)

Having at last permanently planted the Martian flag in our soil, the invaders have set to work reorganizing humanity in a way that suits them. From the surprising masses, many are kept in cages and massive storehouses and bred like livestock; these acting as a permanent and easily sustainable source of liquid sustenance, which the Martians hungrily devour.

Others are allowed to organize into communities and are kept in charge of managing various monotonous tasks for the martians. This including the "herding" of their fellow man in some cases.

Still others, a select few, are further brainwashed, trained, and augmented by the Martians to act as a policing force or as soldiers and agents.

------

But, unknown to the rest of the world, there is still an edification thriving in the heart of it; beneath the very feet of the Martians.

It is the great city Elysia: A massive metropolis hidden several miles underground, somewhere beneath the ruins of London. For 30 years they have been building, learning, inventing, and preparing for the chance to take back the surface and reclaim the world for man and man alone.

Slowly, information is trickling in from the surface. The invention of new technologies, such as radio transmission, has allowed the people of Elysia to connect with the outside world. The Martians, being telepathically linked with each other and having long ago discarded the use of this primitive wave form, have no way of monitoring these new communications.

Germany, now a land of walls, guns, searchlights, and massive bastions, is turning out a leviathan and disciplined mobile war machine. They are the first to answer the call from Elysia and they too have their plans to take back the mainland and the rest of the world.

As mankind arms and mobilizes, once again moving to war, we find ourselves at the beginning of our story.
