The future..
So, as this is the 50th damn update, I'm going to try to squeeze a lot of info in to this one.
So, here's a time table of awesome stuff:
War of The Servers Beta Stage:
- The Closed Beta will take place for 3 weeks.
- The Closed Beta will be shutdown for some time while we fix what went wrong.
- Open Beta is released when updates are done.
- Beta stays how it is until full release, access will not be cut!
War of The Servers Release Stage:
- Infinity+ will be available for purchase. (More info at the bottom)
- War of The Servers is released
- War of The Servers forum will receive upgrade
- Map Packs 1&2 (no info, don't ask.)
Infinity+
Infinity+ is a service that we will begin providing once War of The Servers has been released. Infinity+ will give you the best benefits on all our mods and games.
Infinity+ will bring you:
- Exclusive access to in-game items.
- Bonus items.
- Exclusive access to hidden forums.
- Be able to host your own clan board.
- Access to the "Legendary Members" on the forums.
- In-game badge showing off your awesomeness.
- Early access to betas.
- A whole lot more!
It isn't just War of The Servers too! Your Infinity+ Subscription will give you this access on ALL games and mods.
Now, why are we doing this? Well:
Server Funding
Now, upon release of War of The Servers we're going to blow pretty much every penny we can putting up battle servers so you guys can get straight in to battle, now we all know dedicated servers aren't cheap, they're quite costly.
We may have to put up as many as 25-125 of these servers (depending on how many play this mod). Now that's a lot of money. So, to make up for this money we are introducing Infinity+ and soon you will be able to donate to us to help us with funding.
Server Volunteering
Now, considering we get swamped and we have no where else to go as the players flood in and we don't have enough servers, well, all you lovely people out there who would love to help us make this game "shiny" you are free to volunteer as a hoster.
Why would you?
Well, as a hoster we presume that you won't just be hosting servers for our mod, therefore to help you increase with your server hosting, we'll put banners up on our forums showing our appreciation and love at the kind fact that this mod wouldn't be live without you.
So, enough of the Doom and Gloom, what's next?
Well, you'll be glad to know we just got a new shiny modeller and we've got some sweet maps ready for you guys to get your fingers on!
Now, considering the original mappers that mapped for us last year (Silly Gear-Studios people messed everything up) the announced maps Alcatraz and Powerplant are being refurbished, so never fear if you thought the massive scale warfare on Alcatraz was gone forever!
Now, I'm not supposed to show you guys any maps, but here's a little list I decided to show you:
Maps:
- Alcatraz (Refurb)
- Powerplant (Refurb)
- Rooftops
- Metro Station
