Yet another mod I needed to pay my respects to...As I'm going about, reviewing all the nostalgic titles which made my strange, lonely childhood more fun than it could have been without them.

Hot-dog diggity! Loved this mod. I was introduced to it via the retail version of "Counter-Strike" when it hit the shelves...I thoroughly enjoyed the incalculable hours of intense violence as I took part in the slaughter of thousands of Rustlers.

(Their eyes were just too got-damn close together for my takin' a likin' to.)

Yes, "Wanted!", the game where thousands will die over a single chicken as they brave the rugged climate of the 19th-Century American Southwest and all its lesser perils.

But lo! To my astonishment there was a full version! Oh, boy! I just had to have it...Forced my dad to download it on his screaming fast dial-up connection at work and he did indeed! He brought home a CD-R with all of the mods I wanted...Among them was the "They Hunger" trilogy. Anyway, "Wanted!" and its Wild West atmosphere was wonderful and immersive, the game play was nicely diversified and it was just plum fun! The skins weren't hideous and the voice acting, sound design and story were certainly compelling. Even the items were neat and conveyed that Old West feel nicely! "Oh, you're 'bleeding like a leaky sieve'? Try some of this whiskey!" The only thing it was missing was an Ennio Morricone-inspired soundtrack...oh, wait...

As for the weapons:

To quote Silver Sorrow; "Have you ever tried to run 30mph while holding a cannon?"

Look, I can appreciate the effort put into this mod, but it's just not very fun to play, the rifle is the only remotely useful weapon as the rest is either slow or innacurate, the shotgun is especially bad here.
There are also some glitches and enemies don't drop any ammo.

And what the hell is with those Prospector models?

its a awesome piece of history

An exceptional conversion mod for Half-life.

If you’re asking yourself whether you should play this mod or not, the answer is definitely yes. There is nothing special about the level design, weapons and enemies may seem unbalanced. But the aspect that I love this mod for is the atmosphere. I mean, just imagine playing as a sheriff in a wild-west-like surroundings. Definitely worth your time!

if you've played Outlaws!, and you've played Half-Life, then this mod might be for you. it is quite an old mod that was ported to Steam with a single player campaign in 2006, and has received patches to make the port less broken and restore missing content from the original mod. a brilliant benchmark in modding, and just a wonderful mod in general with a story that isn't dumped on you in one place, but drops subtle hints until the bomb is dropped at the end. the weapons are authentic to those you'd find in 1876, and the level design gives you a bit to explore. definitely one of my favorite Half-Life mods ever made.
