Vanilla+ Personal Mini Repack - S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SOC Edition
v0.8
This patch restores important vanilla functionalities and introduces minor visual tweaks to enhance the overall vanilla experience. The restored elements or functionalities are very important to the vanilla experience and atmosphere, so it's important to bring them back to really have a vanilla feel.
Enhancements & New Features:
- Improved Visual Consistency: The inventory icon for the MP5 has been updated to better match the world model used by the OSRM mod, ensuring a more cohesive visual experience.
- Vanilla Gameplay Restoration: Several key functionalities have been restored to match the original game experience:
* Enemies are now displayed on the minimap for improved situational awareness.
* NPC detection sounds are once again audible on the PDA, providing valuable audio cues.
* The HUD now displays the NPC counter, ammo counter, and distance task counter for better information accessibility.
* The minimap shows the objective marker and red hit indicator for clearer visual guidance.
* The HUD displays the NPC counter indicator for a more comprehensive information display.
* Binocular functionality has been fully restored, allowing you to tag NPCs and receive sound notifications upon detecting them.
- Enhanced User Interface: An issue causing scrollbars to be constantly displayed in trader menus, even when unnecessary, has been resolved, resulting in a cleaner and more user-friendly interface.
- Vanilla Experience Focus: To prioritize a more vanilla experience, two optional features have been removed:
* "Red hit marks invisible on HUD": Players will now see red hit markers on the HUD as intended in the base game.
* "Alternative HUD": The default SOC HUD layout has been reinstated, removing modifications previously implemented to achieve a HUD similar to Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat.
- Visual Tweaks: The colors used for PDA messages displayed on the HUD when finding or emptying stashes have been adjusted to better match the standard vanilla color scheme used for other PDA messages, creating a more visually consistent experience.
- Updated Screenshots: The screenshots on the ModDB page have been updated to reflect the visual changes implemented in this patch.
v0.7
This update for the SOC mini-repack focuses on further vanilla restoration, introduces a new quality-of-life feature, and implements a community-requested change.
Enhancements & New Features:

- Vanilla Gameplay: Reverted the grid cell size and weapon names to their original vanilla settings, providing a familiar feel for players.
- Improved Convenience: Added a new Sleeping Bag feature, allowing players to rest at any location within the Zone for greater flexibility.
- Community Feedback: Increased the radiation cure factor of vodka by approximately 40% based on player suggestions, enhancing its usefulness.
Previous Changes/New Changes:
v0.6
Several artifacts previously had inconsistencies in their bleeding_restore_speed property. This patch adjusts these values to match the vanilla game.
Enhancements & New Features:
- Increased Bleeding: Urchin, Crystal Thorn, Thorn (previously +1000%, now +100%).
- Decreased Bleeding: Mica (previously -4000%, now -400%), Slug (previously -2667%, now -267%), Slime (previously -1333%, now -133%).
v0.5
This patch for the mini repack introduces several enhancements designed to provide a more vanilla gameplay experience.
Enhancements & New Features:
- Increased Carrying Capacity: Aligned with vanilla values for a more balanced gameplay experience.
- Improved Movement: Player character movement properties adjusted to match Clear Sky's balanced levels.
- Enhanced Health Regeneration: Restored functionality mirroring CS and COP behavior.
- Balanced Injury System: Bleeding and wound healing rates adjusted for a more balanced experience (matches COP).
- Restoring NPC Visuals: Neutral NPCs now use their original model for clearer distinction from the player character (who keeps the gas mask with backpack).
v0.4
This patch delivers a handful of enhancements and fixes a low-poly hand mesh and weapon model for the Mini Repack.
Enhancements & New Features:
- Vanilla-Style Health Management: This patch restores vanilla behavior for medical items and food, aligning with a more traditional gameplay approach. Here's what you can expect:
- Using medkits, bandages, and other medical items no longer penalizes your stamina, and consuming food items no longer provides stamina regeneration.
- Optional: Hide Enemy Hit Markers: This optional feature removes the red hit markers displayed on the HUD for mutants and NPCs. This caters to players who prefer a more immersive experience without visual confirmation of enemy damage.
- Improved TOZ-34 Model: I've addressed the low-poly hand mesh and weapon model for the TOZ-34, ensuring a smoother visual experience.
v0.3
This patch addresses a minor issue, implements a visual improvement, and fixes a bug related to NPC revives in the initial release of this mini repack.
Enhancements & New Features:
- Cleaned Up Stash Levels: Resolved an issue where stash level abbreviations were unintentionally re-enabled during the InGameCC mod mini-update. This patch ensures cleaner and less cluttered stash information.
- Improved Medical Supply Icons: The appearance of medical supply icons in the inventory has been updated to better resemble those found in COP.
- Fixed Medkit Revives: Addressed a bug where medkits occasionally failed to revive downed NPCs. This issue primarily affected non-critical gameplay and is now fixed.

v0.2
This patch introduces some improvements based on player feedback and adds a new optional HUD layout for a more personalized experience.
Enhancements & New Features:
- Restored Crouch/Walk/Run/Sprint Indicator: Based on feedback, I've restored the crouch/walk/run/sprint indicator to the default HUD for a more familiar SOC experience.
- Optional CS/COP Inspired HUD: For players who prefer a cleaner interface, I've added an optional HUD that removes the crouch/walk/run/sprint indicator and repositions the sound/endurance/visibility indicators to the right side, similar to CS/COP.
- Optional Current Outfit Information: While the current outfit information implementation is being revisited, I've made it an optional feature in this patch for players who still find it beneficial.
- Updated InGameCC Compatibility: This patch includes an updated version (v0.3) of the mini-update InGameCC mod. Visit the InGameCC download page for detailed information about the changes here - Moddb.com.
Default HUD/Optional HUD:
Compatibility:
- Base Compatibility: This cumulative patch is fully compatible with your existing v0.1 SOC mini-repack. You can seamlessly apply the patch without starting a new game to experience the updated features.
- Alternative Ballistics Core: If you're using the optional Alternative Ballistics Core addon alongside v0.1, this patch remains compatible. You can continue your current playthrough without needing a fresh start.
- Optional Features: If you've chosen to include any optional features from previous cumulative patches (such as "COP weapon textures for SOC"), you'll need to re-copy those files from this new patch into your existing mini-repack to maintain their functionality.
I've edited this comment to serve as a placeholder in case a future quick fix or small patch is needed for the mod before the next cumulative patch is released.
