What was Tumultus? Tumultus Deathmatch began as an experiment, with the sole aim of producing a comminity made mod. The story was set and anyone could produce anything and learn new things as they went along. This was all well and good, and it almost succeeded too. What is Tumultus? The premise is the same, most of the weapons are the same, with a few new surprises ;) The team has shrunk to a few dedicated members working on this mod alone, and everything is getting an overhaul.

So I've been working incredibly hard this week on this and that to the point where I'm eating breathing and sleeping this mod. I'm determined to get a first release out to you guys as soon as possible, So I guess really I should stop coming up with new ideas, Like the healthkit. I've always had problems with your conventional run over the random healthpickup and you're immediatly healed way games traditionally play. The HL2 Health charger was a good way of how health should be restored, slowly over a period of time, so ok.. lets take that and make it into a portable weapon... which is what we've done :) Introducing the needle gun. It acts like a weapon, it's a one time pickup with limited "ammo" which when selected and "fired" recharges your health over time. Heres a nifty little render of what it looks like.

More map media should be going up on the main site soon, so be sure to keep checking. And for those of you that enjoy creating playgrounds within which to unleash carnage and death at others just like you around the world, I'm hoping to make the fgd for the mod available to the public soon so you can all start mapping, and hopefully if some decent maps get produced, we'll be looking to include them in the first release.
