Story

In 1949 only one last obstacle remains in Europe,the free city of Moscow. The city has been bypassed by the Wehrmacht in order to prevent heavy losses. Moscow has been transformed into a deathtrap by the Allies and the Axis will pay dearly for it.

The Germans have decided to infiltrate the city via its underground tunnel system to gain access to the interior city and capture the leading Soviet officials garrisoned in the Kremlin. Intelligence has indicated that Americans have been spotted in the area, what could they be hiding?

Style:

Like most of my maps, they will be very classic FPS, run and gun with challenging environments. Expect various levels of engagements,detailed level design and story.



As usual please track this mod to make me work faster. Like last time with 'Day of Infamy' the people that have tracked the mod will get to test for glitches/playability and feedback.

Long Term Goals:

6 fully detailed separate areas within the same map all linked via a teleport script which is currently working. Depending on the limits of the engine they might be split into a separate map but I'm hoping with enough caulking and optimization it will be all in the same map.

The first area gives the player 3 choices. Each choice takes them to a separate area of the city which will have varying difficulty. At the end of each of these areas the player will be transported to the city slums. The city slums will have 2 different endings that transport the player to the final battle. The battle for the Kremlin (imagine the final of cod1 or world at war with the storming of the Reichstag)

In map exploration of certain buildings much like the way fallout did,now that teleports work.

Pacing of the map, enemies won't be everywhere but in the appropriate areas.

Friendly AI will be with you for some of the map but only in areas where it fits to have them.

As much detail and effects as technically possible if you've played any of my other maps expect that sort of detailing.

As I am mostly a level designer Im not that heavily into scripting but will try my best to implement things to make each area different from the next. This mission will be like my others but this time I will not be implementing things like mega health on enemies or boss fights.

The map will not been rushed and will not be released without proper testing from the community it will most likely be my last contribution to cod2 modding/mapping.

Completed Goals:

3/6 areas started
2/6 areas fully done but not detailed
1/3 alternative areas started and blocked out

Basically the whole map scrapped twice and re-designed most areas deleted and recreated as they didn't work or look professional enough.

I am still working on this map but Ive scrapped a few more areas and they are being completely redone, there will be now one main hub which you will have to battle for that will transport you to 2-3 different zones each with varying difficulties,paths and settings. Due to size constraints the actual assault on a re-imagined Kremlin will be a separate map all together added in with this one, this project will feature a scale and immersion which im not sure has been attempted in a custom map before the reason it has been in development for a long time is that I want to ensure the quality of world environment is on par with those achieved from IW.

Is their going to be a part where the player gets to help capture some sort of leader? It has always been sort of a wish of mine to see a historical character in CoD2, I am planning to add one to my own mod, but you should add a quest where we have to capture a Soviet general such as Zhukov. It might be a lot of work but it would be something new to the Cod2 modding world.

Great work! I'm glad to see this map making progress. I had a question though, since this map takes place in 1949, I'm curious to see what kind of weapons and technology will be present, any plans to have something similar to Wolfenstein as far as German technology goes?

Well, you could always ask Mch for the StG.45 that he's made, or, as a somewhat more radical idea, use a modern German weapon such as a G3 which is available for download in the Model Quest mod.

Just put STG and he few mp40 and k98 to the german, and ppsh41 pps 43 for all the russian;
