What makes the Professional Mod different from any other Mod?

Because the Professional Mod was started from the Orion Mod and Minimod (Thanks Guys!), the approach has been different than most mods. The Professional Mod is focused primarily on play balancing and elimination of exploits and bugs. Don't worry, because of the flexibilty of the Minimod, there are plenty of weapons and equipment to check out. The Professional Mod simply aims to reign in all these great ideas, with a few of my own, and return the balance and teamplay aspects of
Tribes Base to the world of the mods. Tactics and creativity are the important aspects of a player of the Professional Mod, rather than discovering which combination of equipment makes a player into that 'super' character. So, the Professional Mod is different, in that it's focus is to be properly balanced, exploit free, and as bug free as I can make it.

Why is the Professional Mod so defense heavy?

The Professional Mod, in my opinion, isn't really defense heavy so much as most mods are offensive heavy. Of course, my opinion doesn't change the fact that base assaulting is generally more difficult in the Professional Mod than other mods. Part of the reason for this is reality: one person should be able to defend their base from one attacker with reasonable consistency. It is a 'base' after all! Keep in mind that offense is naturally more difficult than defense, and as such, requires
much more of a team effort. However, with a good mix of tactics, even a single player can wreak havoc on a base poorly defended by a single player. The point here is that intelligence is much more important than firepower in the Professional Mod. There's plenty of firepower to be had, but it's proper use makes all the difference. The other part of the reason for the heavy capabilities of defense, is that heavy defense encourages team play. I grew tired of seeing mods in which, one Armor,
properly dressed out, could defeat all the defenses of an opposing team's base. This simply won't happen in the Professional Mod.

The Professional Mod sounds difficult, is it?

The Professional Mod is only as difficult as the opponents that you play. Naturally, in a mod like this, proper and thorough knowledge of the equipment becomes very important.
