Tribal Wars is a mod inspired by the Starsiege Tribes series. It
is designed to bring some of the core gameplay aspects of
movement, combat, and teamwork into Enemy Territory - Quake Wars.
This first release covers the basic weaponry, physics,
and the CTF Gametype. It also will serve as a basis for
future development as well as adding additional gameplay
elements.

1. MOD INFORMATION

Tribal Wars is a mod inspired by the Starsiege Tribes series. It
is designed to bring some of the core gameplay aspects of
movement, combat, and teamwork into Enemy Territory - Quake Wars.
This first release covers the basic weaponry, physics,
and the CTF Gametype. It also will serve as a basis for
future development as well as adding additional gameplay
elements.
If you receive the message "Error: Local Data not in sync with Server"
you may be missing some updated files. Refer back to the project
forums to check for any updates.

2. INSTALLATION INFORMATION

Installation for Windows users with the RETAIL BOXED SET:
This package is WINDOWS ONLY. Ensure you have the v1.5 Patch for ETQW.
Download the installation package. The installer will ask for the Installation
Directory, select the Enemy Territory - Quake Wars folder. Note: If you are a
steam user, locate the ETQW directory in
\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\enemy territory quake wars\. Wait
until the extraction process is complete. You will now have a Desktop icon which
you can use to run the game.

3. CONFIGURATION

Once you have started the mod at least once, some new configuration
folders and files will be created. On startup, there is a default
WSAD binding that is initialized.
If you prefer an EDSF layout, then bring up the console
(ctrl-alt-~) and type exec esdf.
You may also want to create a number of other configuration changes
by creating an Autoexec. Locate the local settings folder in:
My Documents\id Software\Enemy Territory - QUAKE Wars\sdnet\USERNAME\twars
Create a text file called Autoexec.cfg and open it with a text editor
(Wordpad works much better than Notepad). You can add any additional CVar
settings into this file.
IMPORTANT: When searching for servers online, you should select the
twars filter. You can do this by clicking the Filters button in the
server browsers and setting twars to 'Show Only'.
