Just a little update to let faithful know we are indeed moving forward. Certainly we have not made our little release plan, but then again, mods' release plans were made to be broken. I suppose. In any case, we have a buzz of activity going on behind the scenes, with perhaps more actual coders working on features than, well, ever before! We are tightening things up at every level.
Joco and GT (yes, GrandpaTrout) are using some spare time from real life to convert all our in game 'operations' to dynamic ones. This means that ships and fleets are no longer just scripted events, but are 'entities' within the game that will move about and engage in their business/functions and interact with the player. It is very exciting as it adds a whole new level to our simulation of life in the Middle States.
The Capsule Jump simulation is done, and is just going through bug fixing and balancing. It looks and plays fast too.
A feature that had been added, but forgotten about ere it birthed, was given life. Battles between faction fleets will produce fields of wreckage, which can be collected by the player, and sold at metal processing stations. If no-one collects the wreckage, areas will build up larger and larger wreck fields with time.
Additionally, lingering bugs are being batted aside faster than they can be uncovered, which is good.
All told, things are looking good for a release..in the future!
sounds really nice :) ... i can't wait to try on my Iwar2
Thank you very much for all you guy's effort, it makes the game much more fun to play. Is there anything I can help?
