Steel Talons (and the fate of railguns in 1.25)
As seen in the above video, railguns have seen a thorough rework from sound effects to graphical effects across all Steel Talons vehicles. Steel Talons still does not have a railgun upgrade (like Tiberian Sun), but instead pays a premium on all its Railgun armed vehicles. (3200 for Mk2 Mammoth, 1500 for Railgun Guardian Cannons etc)
The Ghost Stalker is now fully implemented and plays exactly like his glass cannon counterpart in Tiberian Sun. He has a lot of firepower and can do more than his fair share of damage to an enemy opponent, but will succumb to enemy anti-infantry very quickly. He costs 2500 credits and can heal in Tiberium.
The C&C3 styled railguns have been completely repurposed to "rail-cannons" for GDI, which are now a much weaker GDI based alternative (compared to ST railguns) upgrade for GDI based tanks. They now do considerably less damage than their vanilla counterparts, and as such the "Rail-Cannon" upgrade as its now called is reduced to 2000 credits and costs 30 seconds to complete.
The GDI Mammoth Tank cost has been reduced by 100 credits down to 2400. This means to have true railgun functionality and firepower, you will need to play Steel Talons, however this does also mean that economically GDI can afford its rail-cannons considerably cheaper, and its Mammoth Tanks are slightly cheaper too, and can own railguns nearly 1 minute earlier compared to the vanilla upgrade time of 1 minute, 30 seconds.
Classic Commando
Already uploaded to my YouTube Channel and ModDB, I figure the classic commando could do with some further explanation.
Costing 2500 credits and armed with a fast firing explosive sniper rifle, as well as long range fire capability (around the same distance as a Scrin Hunter Seeker) the Classic Commando is very potent anti-infantry unit. Constantly stealthed, when not attacking; he's able to manuever the battlefield unseen. He can also take advantage of stealth garrisoning like the GDI Sniper Teams. I do plan on adding Spot Bombardment for him too, so he can team up with Juggernaughts like snipers.
The ZOCOM commando (basically vanilla commando) will have an inherent immunity to Tiberium, making the GDI commando the only commando that is injured by tiberium. He also has 25% less health compared to the ZOCOM commando, and around 50% less health compared to the Ghost Stalker. He's the fastest commando in the game moving around 33% faster than the Ghost Stalker, and about 15% faster than the ZOCOM commando.
Other features of 1.25 such as Scrin ambient sounds and Mutant Hijacker have been fully implemented so far.
Hopefully as long as I don't come up with other ideas I should be releasing fairly soon. ;) The Defender Scorpion's armor does need rebalancing as I feel its side and rear armor should be even weaker.
(The frontal armor tradeoff is currently too big, it makes the tank amazing for its price range, so even weaker sides will be its downfall)
Thanks for all the support. ^^
