REQUIRES : Ultimate Apocalypse 1.73.9 -------------------------------- This mod adds the Imperator, Warlord and Cavalier Titans to the Ultimate Apocalypse mod for Imperial Guard players only. Later versions will support all races. This is a test release.
New light titan class added, the Cavalier titan. Larger then a Warhound, but smaller then a Reaver, loosely based on Lucius Reaver chassis, but smaller, faster, and packs a hella punch from Warlord class weapons. Heavy hitter, but weakly armored compared to a Reaver, much more like a Warhound for armor and health.
Cavalier?
emm... can you explain me what is that?
It's totally non-cannon. The Lucius Pattern Reaver model I have to work with has some..."issues" with the third hardpoint that seem unsurmountable. After a lot of brain storming, I decided I didn't wanna just throw away the unit because of a single bad hardpoint. It's unique shape and design still would fit in nicely with only two main weapons, IF it was no longer a medium class, Reaver titan.
This baby has turned into a real gem, actually. Everything about it's shape and design screams late M41 Lucius Pattern design concept, but is sized between the Reaver and Warhound. It's going to get a full skin job just like the Warlord has, of course. But consider this Titan lore detail... The Warhound has ALWAYS been called a "scout titan" in all official literature and cannon. The Reaver is referred to as a "medium" titan... where's the "light" titan in between "scout" and "medium"?
The Cavalier is that "light" titan. I intend to put a full backstory behind it including STC data being found, yadda, yadda, yadda, the whole 10 yards to explain it's existence in the release readme file. Suffice to say, the unit actually does fill a tactical gap between Reaver and Warhound that actually becomes noticeable once you deploy a few Cavaliers. It's not a useless unit. It's as fast as a Warhound and hits as hard as a Reaver with "miniturized Warlord" technology. It's weakness is that even though it packs a near-Reaver class shield, it's health is equal to a Warhound... thin armor exchanged for speed and heavier weapons is the cost of the Cavalier.
Also, the Cavalier has the largest selection of weapons next to a Warlord of any titan. 4 weapons for one arm and 5 weapons for the other. It's fast, hard hitting, but isn't meant for protracted punishment.
so...
knight (in ua gold relace), Warhound, Cavalier, Reaver, warlord, imperator...
the imperium is kinda unbalanced...
any other races: damn you Adeptus Mechanicus D:<

if I'm not mistaken, Knight titan is going to be released in UA Gold Edition
Great work!)) More titans!
Will you be adding these titans to the other factions of the Imperium and Chaos? Chaos having more satanic looks and such.
I will certainly be adding these titans to the Space Marines for sure, possibly sisters as well. As far as Chaos goes, that's still iffy. I want to do so, but other then just reskinning these, I can't do much to add spikes, horns, and chains n stuff. I can certainly add a scary looking, satanic-style skin to the Warlord, for example, and that WOULD give a basic Chaos Warlord, but would really lack a lot of the needed fluff.
I probably won't use it if it doesn't get balanced out between all races (or atleast close enough to give me just enough leeway to win against it), Chaos versions would be nice but I totally can understand the issues with doing more than just a reskin and to be honest just a reskin doesn't really give it that epic immersion feeling. Love the work as I always did want to see more Imperium titans and will definitely keep an eye on this.
Oh yes, it's definately a ongoing work in progress. And no, this is REALLY not recommended for serious play until it is closer to finished. On the other hand, for a pure titan wars battle between IG players, it gets pretty crazy and fun as it is. But it will take time to get things PROPERLY balanced in... you should have seen the original ZMS stats for these beasties.
