You are Ezra Fischer, a wealthy jailer at Munich, Germany. One day, quite suddenly, a mysterious man by the name of Albert Luther began to purchase large swaths of your prisoners for vague reasons regarding 'needed laborers'. He paid you handsomely, so it was easily brushed off. However, the secretive nature of his operation, and his lack of a response to any of your letters began to make you suspicious. After several reports, and anomalous events, it becomes clear that something ancient and evil is being released into your world, with it's origin at the very place where you sent your prisoners. You leave everything behind one night to resolve it all.

An update on plans that I have regarding the story, and gameplay of The Intersection.

Posted by on

Hey all, I have been doing a bit more work on an update/remaster for this mod and want to keep you posted.

I'm sorry for not really bothering with this much. I should have made some sort of update that fixes some of the most obvious bugs.

Story:

Some of the most pointed, consistent, and understandable criticism upon the release of this custom story was that the storyline was generic, confusing, and hard to follow. This is definitely true, and I should have been more diligent about presenting it in a better manner.

So, I have written a new story for this mod, taking the criticism into account. It should hopefully be easier to follow, with less titles and roles to remember. It will also be much simpler, so the player can focus more on the experience itself.

The first storyline was something that I shouldn't have tried to apply to an Amnesia mod. The ideas in it were from long before I ever thought of sitting down and making something for this game, and it didn't fit well in a custom story.

Gameplay:

Most of the criticism was in regards to certain puzzles being nonsensical, or too varied in difficulty. Some puzzles were praised, others were not done very well. I think this could have been fixed by getting more play testing, but now that the mod has been released for a while, thanks for all your criticisms. I think they all are understandable, and I don't know what I was thinking in some areas. I'm going to change up the gameplay, especially towards the ending. I'm going to give the player much clearer goals, and instructions, so they don't feel lost.

For the ending, I'm going to almost fully change it. The ending was unanimously felt as unsatisfactory, and this new storyline gives me more to explore with it. I really want the ending to feel impactful, and understandable.

Hoping to get this out before the one year anniversary of this custom story's release. Stay tuned!
