The Haunted is a fast paced thirdperson horror-action game with focus on a intense multiplayer experience that is all about making a stand and liberating cursed places from the minions of evil. The game features several multiplayer modes such as coop or demons .vs. humans, where enemies are spawned and controlled by players. The outstanding visuals lay a perfect tone for the gameplay.

The announcement of The Haunted for UT3 comes with some info and lots of ingame screenshots!

Posted by on

The first set of images shows two of the games playable creatures, the over the shoulder cam and some violence. I will keep this site updated with new information and media as it becomes available, but development currently takes the top priority. Actually the images only show off test maps, but this will hopefully change soon.

Since it’s only one person currently working on the mod, some additional people are needed to get a public release out of the door.

Level Designers
The Haunted needs experienced level designers the most. You will create moody and atmospheric environments based in reality, but with a unique touch and a more stylized look. The mapping for this game isn’t complicated and i’am not looking for uber-high detail graphics. You don’t need to be able to make high poly art, but you should be able to model and texture your own static meshes and have some basic knowledge of integrated ue3 tools like the material editor and kismet. Of course you may also use ut3 stock assets as long as they fit.

Testers
To get ready for a public release, the haunted also needs a small team of testers who will help balancing the gameplay and find bugs. Knowledge of bug tracking software isn’t required, since the project is not that huge. You should know who to set up a UT3 server. Previous experience in testing games, especially unreal mods is a huge plus.

If you think you can help, send an email with samples of previous work or a link to a portfolio page (not testers) to TheHaunted@Faceoffgame.de or just send me a private message!

See - what did I tell you? - Applause!
Now you just have to set people's focus straight, so let's say a Mr. Kadish understands that this has more to do with the Hidden than with any Resident Evil game.

i was referring to the muddy visual palette, third person over the shoulder camera, and gratuitious zombie headshots as cause for comparison to RE4. im sure the story and gameplay are very different.
