He got mad after I stole that beautiful golden builder statue. Took his sword out and was like "That's not right!" and started looking around for me, he never put his sword away either, I had to avoid that hallway for the rest of the game. There was no way I could sneak by with him on high alert like that.
just made my first playthrough of this mission (looong overdue), and yeah both that guy and his buddy made my life a pain, so i reloaded a previous save, skipped that loot on my way up the stairs, and grabbed it on my way back down. no problem if they want to walk in circles waving swords around as long as i'm on my way out the cellar door when they do it :)
