The title of the mod under development is called "Star Wars: Rise of the Shadows." The mod is somewhat based off a fictional timeline setting in the Star Wars universe between Episode 4: A New Hope and Episode 6: Return of the Jedi, but mainly between Episodes 4 & 5. Basically the characters in the mod are involved in a plot revolving around a recently formed Consortium of Criminal Networks (CCN) between various members of recently allied criminal networks such as the Zann Consortium, the Hutt Cartel, and the Black Sun; all of whom conspire with an emerging regime in Geonosis to liberate the planet from Imperial occupation. The Geonosian regime is led by Prago the Lesser, and his military commander Darth Rex, a dark Jedi. Along the way, Darth Rex shares his leadership with his new found love, Serra Nova, a Jedi knight who survived Order 66 in her padawan days. Meanwhile, the Rebels see this emerging criminal faction as a potential ally in their war against the Galactic Empire.

Custom Music Track Instructions for various Star Wars: Empire at War and Forces of Corruption Mods

Posted by on

Hello everyone,

Below are some basic instructions on how to put your own favorite music track in almost any Star Wars: Empire at War and Forces of Corruption mod game menu. Please note I'm assuming the way that I figured this out was based on how the files were set up in the program directory of the mod I'm making "Rise of the Shadows" which is basically a template or altered version of the Absolute Corruption 2.4 mod. Hopefully the directory in which your folders are setup is very similar to the one I have which is reflected on the instructions given. If not please make determinations and adjustments accordingly and REMEMBER TO MAKE A BACK COPY OF YOUR EMPIRE AT WAR FILES, just in case. Please also note that you will need at least a basic XML editor program (you can find one as simple as a 1.0 version for free download; trust me I know, because that's what I'm using to make the "Rise of the Shadows" mod when it comes to coding. Anyways, here are the steps below to follow in putting your favorite music song into the game mod:
***
Step 1: Acquire an mp3 file track song
Step 2: Go to C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire At War Forces of Corruption\Mods\(Whatever the title is for your respective mod, e.g.:ACM2.5)\Data\Audio\Music
Step 3: Copy and paste the mp3 file track song that you want to play to the Music folder shown from Step 2
Step 4: Use an XML editor (for example I used a free downloadable version of XML 1.0 as my application) and open C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption\Mods\(Whatever the title is for your respective mod, e.g.:ACM2.5)\Data\XML\MUSICEVENTS folder
Step 5: After opening the XML file folder mentioned from Step 4, open Document\MusicEvents\MusicEvent\Files, then right click, select add,and then selcect text
Step 6: A text entry menu should pop up in your XML editor allowing you to enter the desired text. Type in exactly the text as it appears for the name of your song, then add ".mp3" after the typed text, and click "Ok" or press enter. For example if you are using an mp3 song that says "Star_Wars_Episode_3_Revenge_of_the_Sith-_Battle_of_the_Heroes" type "Star_Wars_Episode_3_Revenge_of_the_Sith-_Battle_of_the_Heroes.mp3" as the text and click "Ok" or press enter.
Step 7: To check if you have followed the steps correctly, launch the "Rise of the Shadows" mod and wait for the game menu to appear. When it does it should be playing the desired song that you have selected accordingly.

Hope this helps,

Darth_Rex

I just found something on my computer today! I completely forgot I have that song, "Battle of the Heroes" on my computer. Don't even remember where I got it from! But I do know it's not from Sony.

Virtually any song would be better then that stupid non-Star Wars Consortium theme.

Like this one,

@Admiral_Ace: Trust me the Battle of the Heroes song from the Episode 3 soundtrack IS published by Sony, Sony Classical to be more exact. I know this because I HAVE the actual CD of the soundtrack.

Oh, btw, thanks for the links. I actually like the game themes song website and I might try to use one of the songs from that site to set up as the default game menu song for the mod when I make it available for download. Unfortunately they don't have the Skyhook battle song from Shadows of the Empire, so I'm thinking I probably use another song from another game not related to Star Wars at all but still has a good rhythm and melody to compliment the game menu.

I'd personally have the Imperial March Elevator music on mine. Gets me pumped every time.

That's actually a pretty good track song, but I'm not a fan of the Imperials so that's probably one reason why I opted out in contemplating to use that song in my own copy of the game.

I have committed a grave sin with this: I put music from a Korean War Drama into a Star Wars game.

...But I gotta say, it sounds really good! One song fits particularly well...

You confused me at Step 5 and Step 6 to be honest.

Where is (Document\MusicEvents\MusicEvent\Files)?
