The prequels might not have been good, but I loved all of the Republic ship designs and your game versions are amazing!

Trying not to bring in a huge argument here, but personally I dont see anything wrong with the prequels, but I do understand why people hate the medichlorian (or however you spell it) explanation. If they would have just left that scene out, I think it would have taken a lot of the hate away.

Yeah, the prequels were hit and miss, though for the most part Revenge of the Sith was good. My policy on prequel era ships is that if it appeared in one of the movies and I have good use for it I'll add it to the mod. The Acclamator will be the only one in the first release but I imagine the Venator will be added before too long as well.

Well the Acclamator is the siege frigate and the Venator is a carrier capitalship. Both are useful but not particularly well suited to direct combat (though the Venator does have the SPHA-T beam). There will be two versions of the Venator. One is an Imperial version with TIE fighters and another the "Neutral" version used by militia (though other factions can obtain it via random encounters), which will have weaker strikecraft in the form of Z-95 headhunters and Y-wings.

Always had a soft spot to the Acclamator since EAW, nice to see it'll come to life in this mod.

Description

A classic from the Clone Wars, the Acclamator-II assault ship outlived its original model, the more famous Acclamator-I, by focusing on a planetary bombardment role instead of a troop carrier. Its armament is not great compared to most other Imperial Warships, but its mix of turbolasers, point defense laser cannons and concussion missiles give it much more combat utility than any other siege frigates. Still, the heavy proton torpedoes used by the Acclamator-II are quite expensive, and thus should be escorted by other Imperial warships when engaging in planet bombardment operations.

While deployed only in fairly limited numbers before the Great Interregnum, to extra-galactic invaders focus on planetary bombardment rather than ground assault has forced a similar change among the factions in the Galaxy Far Far Away. As a result many more Acclamator-IIs which had been mothballed were restored and pressed into service, especially by Imperial Warlords Grand Moff Ardus Kaine and Yasanne Isard. Isard, who happened to control Rothana, the planet where the Acclamator was originally produced, even restarted its production run and built the first totally new Acclamators in over 2 decades.
