Star Wars Battlefront III Legacy is a large-scale conversion mod created for Battlefront II using as many recovered assets that are available from the cancelled game Star Wars Battlefront 3 by Free Radical; including both eras (Clone Wars and GCW), a brand-new HUD+Interface and a few converted maps such as Coruscant, Cato Neimoidia, Bespin and Dantooine.

It should of been...
Any old school star wars fan knows that Kyle Katarn is the original story! Not the made up Rougue One!

I'd rather have Kyle over whatever this 'character' was supposed to be.

>implying that addition of the R-1 characters to the SWBF3-styled mod is normal and mixing the Legend chars with the canon ones is a great idea.

As I remember, the original idea of the Battlefront III Legacy mod was to make SWBF3 on the SWBF2 engine by using assets ripped directly from SWBF3. THAT'S ALL.
And now the creators of the mod are trying to include non-SWBF3 elements to their project that just don't fit the SWBF3 lore. For what idiotic purpose? To show us their modding skills? You're joking, right? It just won't work until you're a brainfucked.

But why am I even explaining this to some western shitheads? 90% of them can't even stand the first 3 episodes because of the stupid nostalgia about the original trilogy. They can see the objective flaws of the 1-3 episodes (and I support them in it), but cannot find any cons the original trilogy made (if you can't see them, it doesn't mean there is literally no flaws in those films).

The original Star Wars film had some flaws, as did the original trilogy in general, The Empire Strikes Back less so.

Really? Just... really? You're bitching about the inclusion of Rogue One and ST characters because it doesn't fit the lore. We're seriously worrying about if a mod damages the lore when really? These will be nothing more than fun bonuses. Keep in mind that the title of it is "Battlefront III: Legacy" and while the main goal is to basically revive Free Radical's sadly cancelled project? Keep in mind that it was still a cancelled game and that guess what? There is plenty of **** here that realistically wouldn't be implemented. Starkiller and Juno Eclipse are in the game, they never were confirmed for the game but they're here. We had gameplay showing Palpatine in his standard chancellor attire. I'm very sure that was more than likely not going to be a thing in Free Radical's game. Hell, we have clone battalions that we never really saw in-game and yet you're not bitching about that. Instead it's the fact there are characters from the new canon that are being implemented.

Here's what I ask. Who the hell cares? It's a mod and as a mod? Naturally there's going to be some bonuses, especially when considering it's a mod based on a cancelled game that I'm fairly we certain we haven't seen all of and considering the name? It makes sense. Battlefront III left a legacy, a legacy that would bring about its revival which included some characters from this new canon. Was it what we wanted? Not exactly but still, it's there. Also it's clear you misread the description since this is what it actually said:

"Star Wars Battlefront III Legacy (or: Swbf3: Legacy) is a large-scale conversion mod created for Battlefront II using as many Assets from the cancelled game as possible; including both eras (Clone Wars and GCW), a brand-new HUD+Interface and a few converted maps such as Coruscant and Cato Neimoidia."

You see? It said it'd be using AS MANY assets from the game as possible. Does it say it'd be strictly using those assets? No because that's incredibly ridiculous and limiting. I mean let's keep this in mind that because this is nothing more than an extremely well done conversion mod for Battlefront II? If they limited themselves to only those assets then really what you'd be left with is a better looking BFII with some BFIII stuff and new characters which would get boring and considering it is a cancelled game with assets that aren't the easiest to get a hold of and are obviously being tinkered in order to fit in a 12 year old game's engine? You're going to encounter some problems and you need to substitute the content you can't implement and honestly? I think having a mix of Legends and the new canon is the way to go. It's a perfect way of celebrating almost all aspects of Star Wars and providing fanservice to all sides. The idea that it would ruin anything is honestly rather sad and petty especially since if you really hate them that much? You can just not use them.
