I am curious as to what faction tech trees will involve in terms of weapon types as in vanilla Stellaris it is possible to research all the alternative weapon types to what your faction uses, In the mod will this also be possible? For example will Federation players be able to research Romulan or Klingon disruptors or Dominion Polaron weapons and outfit ships with them?
weapon types will be locked to the respective factions, no Polarons or Disruptors on federation ships.
Will we at least still be able to customize what variants of respective energy types can be fitted onto ships? for example will there be variants of phaser weapons such as phaser arrays or phaser lances or phaser cannons as modules that can be fitted onto weapons slots in any configuration? Including torpedoes too?
There will be a more in depth article on this soon but as an example not all ships can have pulse phasers but you will be able to specialize them in other ways.
