Good job bud, glad you're expanding on this. I sent you a message with a patch to merge my latest update with this if you want, it just fixes the descriptions of the Repair kits to be more informative about how they work now.

Sweeeeet, I really want this mod to grow. With the conditions of the zone it makes sense that there would be a large amount of jury-rigged items. Keep it up!

I hope in the future there might be a way to create recipes with more than two items, by placing them in a special backpack with a special inventory or something. Like for example, creating a medkit would require a sewing kit for stitching up wounds, maybe vodka for sterilization, cloth sheets to serve as wraps and probably a painkiller of some kind.

yea combining multiple items would be super cool, but unfortunately that would require rework of the script from the ground up, and for that I currently don't have the necessary knowledge. but we can dream :)

Can you add the Sleeping Bag as a craftable item, I was thinking of combining a 'Bed Spread' and 'Camouflage Tarp' to make a sleeping bag...Or maybe even better combo would be 'Compression Bag' and 'Bed Spread', I seem to find a crap ton of Compression bags for the sleeping bag, but its much harder to find the actual sleeping bag...outside of buying them from traders...unfortunately where I am I wont have access to a Trader for awhile

that's really good, I can do it. I would go with the bed spread / tarp combination, since compression bag serves more as a "container" for sleeping bag than an actual part of it.. If I have some time after work I can make a quick update today

Alright! thanks for the sleeping bag recipe, my life as a stranded mercenary is easier now :D

PS- When dismantling artifact detectors for IED crafting, you dont always get a Proximity device...any way to make that 100% salvageable? I wouldnt really mind, but they're so expensive and rare, its disappointing to get nothing or just some plastic

Thanks for all the hard work on this! I originally used this mod with Last Day 1.1, but with 1.2 being released recently, I've been having a few issues. Most of basic drag and drop is working - for example I can dismantle outfits and weapons, but I'm not able to do anything with the Special Forces Guide to activate the crafting menu.

andrejchudoba - - 266 comments

I'm playing on 1.2 currently as well and all works fine. If there is no "use" action on Survival guide then it's possible that you installed some other addon on top of FCO that overwrites some of the included files

I updated from 1.1 - 1.2, and have been using JSGME. I disabled all the mods, but when I spawn the 'survivalguide' from the Items (Trash) menu, all I get is the option to drop it.

Is this the correct item? Second, my understanding from the patch notes is FCO is included in 1.2, I don't have to install the mod separately, correct?

yea, this will be it - FCO is included in 1.2, but only v2 which didnt have the crafting UI yet.. so please download the v4 and put it on top - it will overwrite all the files from the previous version

Hey andre I got another few ideas for ya.... The ability to craft outfit/weapon repair kits would be awesome. With the ability to dismantle guns and get spare parts we could use those parts in the crafting system to make Weapon or ARmor repair kits...So a Small-Bore rifle kit could include Steel Wool, Gun oil, gun barrel?, and cloth sheet (just an example of the 'could be' recipe) And the (heavy?) Armor repair kit could include Textile/Cloth sheet, sewing kit, swiss knife, and Kevlar Sheet? I sort of came up with the recipes on the spot but the premise sounds nice and easy enough...let me know what you think

Ps- Good job on the 'always drop' proximity device update, real ease of life improvement...Anyway I was hoping you could adjust the recipe for the 'anti-personnel mine' to not include the proximity device in the recipe and instead implement a sort of simple 'trip-wire' type recipe...Something like>Copper wire+explosive+plastic/rope= mine...Seeing as the proximity device is technically better used for the bigger and more expensive IED's

PS2- The ability to salvage Broken radios or broken flashlights for copper wire on top of that would be nice

that's some good stuff man, I was thinking about crafting repair tools but it seems you are on the right track so I will use some of it definitely. I'm cooking a bigger update now, there will also be attachments crafting (armored plates, kevlar etc.) and some new items, but it will take a while, so keep it coming! thanks

(btw it's andrej, for the future reference :D but andre sounds cool too, so all good)

Hi

Dumb question:

Is the 7.62 barrel swap supposed to work for all rifles of this diameter?

I was able to use it for the SVD, but the SKS doesn't appear.
Is there a variable that I don't get?

andrejchudoba Author

it should be there, probably your sks is under 45% cond

Amazing work man! It's mods like this that keep me going back to stalker over and over.

Reading the comments I see you're open to new ideas/suggestions so here it is:

It's already been said but the ability to craft outfit repair kits, same as you did with weapons would be amazing.

Might be a bit tedious to implement but being able to craft Ammo would be nice, using powder cans or explosives like grenades you can dismantle to get powder and some other stuff... It shouldn't be brand new ammo tho... just a better alternative to using damaged/old one.

Quality of life improvement (if it's possible) would be to have a checkmark / text highlighted or in a different color when you add an element to your recipe, to keep track more easily (I know the kit gets updated with an image of the element you just added but if you do a lot of recipes it gets confusing / hard to see where you're at after a lot of elements have already been added).

Anyways, cheers and keep on the good work!

thanks, yes the outfit toolkits are definitely gonna be a thing but since I have a lot of things to do "irl" right now, unfortunately it will have to wait for some time. But it surely is on my radar as a next update to do + some other stuff..
As for the package text marking, that would be cool I guess but the text of each package is now always updated with what ingredient you should add next (if I didnt miss any). So going through all the strings again and adding another marking seems like a lot of tedious work when the information is already there - visually (as the package icon updates) and in the text itself. But still, if I have enough time, I can do it, for the future generations

Does anyone know how to edit "dragdrop_disassemble.script" in a way to allow the use of a Swiss Army Knife to disassemble all weapon categories. Or am I looking at entirely the wrong file?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+2 votes
andrejchudoba Author
andrejchudoba - - 266 comments

for that you need to edit items_fieldcraft.ltx, find the swiss section and add to it all the item categories you want it to disassemble

When I try to craft the shotgun repair kit it wont let me drag in the smoothbore barrels. This a bug or am i doing something wrong? Playing on the Last Day version 1.2

make sure you are dropping it correctly - so that the *leftmost* side of the barrel icon is in the package icon when you release it
